I have had to send a couple providers there on my dime over the years.
It appears to be a few years since this question was updated: where do folks recommend for testing?
Red door clinic was mentioned in previous posts - sounded like flexible pay scale, but perhaps less privacy since it is part of the HCMC system.
A few STD test online websites are about $200, but then you entering info online. One sent you to Quest testing center on Nicollet in downtown mpls. Can you just walk-in instead?
I also had it done as part of my regular physical, but I don't know often I want to go to my regular doc for this.
Or this another better option?
An important thing to do on a somewhat regular basis. Thanks for everyone's input!
If they didn't keep people's info confidential, world would get out and they would lose a lot of clients. I don't use them myself (I just get tested when I have a physical) but have heard good things about them from a number of providers.
I just noticed some folks brought it up earlier and was curious what people thought. I do think there is some risk with your health insurance provider seeing this info, and if it shows up on MyChart then I'm sure they do.
I was there years ago and they missed the vein to draw the blood
out properly. Swelled up like the Hindenburg!
I think even this guy would be afraid to go there ...

Unless you show them your insurance card and have them process a claim, they won't know. Even if they do, I don't see why they would care; for all they know your a swinger. Or are you concerend about an SO seeing the claim and wondering what it's about?
I use Red Door, it does show up on my MyChart, etc with all my other medical info. I don't have any problem with that, but perhaps if someone else would?
I use red door. I created a fake persona and use my hobby email. Done on a donation basis so you pay what you can. I usually give 100 but you can give what you can afford.
I think this is an interesting option - creating a fake MyChart login. So they don't check your ID when you check in? My normal clinic does this now.
