Making threads go away!

I have noticed that there is one provider in particular who seems to be able to remove her  comments or the threads she starts.  And, of course, whe she does that, all the posters , who took the time to post a response, loose their comments as well.

I can understand removing a thread if it somehow violates TER rules, but it seems like these threads get removed because the original poster just "changed her mind".

I guess, as an infrequent poster myself, I try to think about what I am saying, so that I don't wish to have my remarks removed.

And, what is a bit more frustrating is that often this particular poster has some interesting points of view, and they are well worth reading.

I cannot take credit for being one!

I simply used the "edit message" feature to edit my post. Is that ok with you? By the way, you can do it too!!!

Sometimes, editied posts do not show up immediately when our mods have other things going on in their lives and have yet to get to around to approving my edited post. Other times, I may simply delete a post (everyone can do so), if I feel I no longer feel it is warrented and worth pushing other threads off the board. Is that ok with you?

No worries, my post will reappear once Ikcuts approves its modifications.

And no, I am not a magician.

LOL.

Wow!

(Still laughing)

:)

You say you just edited your post and it should be back up.  But, later you say that you will email your post to people who want to read it. So, I guess my original thoughts were accurate, and the post was compltely deleted.  And, Frankly, I thought the post was pretty good and worth reading.

because people start bashing away.   Why can't we just agree to disagree and just leave it at that.  Sometimes there is no right or wrong way of thinking and doing. We are unique people and our past experiences have carved out who we are today, therefore,  we naturally will do things differently.  That doesn't make our way any better or any worse.  It's just what's right for us.  That's why the name calling and the bashing has to stop.  That is why I am growing tired of it.  Both coming out of my mouth and coming into my ears.  I, for one, am done with it.  I see now that it is childish and immature and I want nothing more to do with it.

WE as a group of adults have a choice to move forward from this point, forget the past and change our board.  We can make a few rules of conduct (as long as they still fall with TER rules) and turn our board around.  It is not too late.

For anyone interested in what I posted can feel free to email or PM me, as I feel I no longer want to post it on this board. People misconstrue things and take it as bashing, when there really was no bashing and just a question posed.

Beyond this, I have nothing else to say on this matter. It is old...and frankly taken the wrong way.

Look forward to my weekly ad tomorrow.:)

Hang in there girl. Only the good die young.

If you pull up your own post, and hit the edit button, you can do one of two things. You can edit the post and send it into post limbo to be approved, or you can type "Please Remove" in the subject line. In either case, all of the subsequent posts under that post are removed as well. If yours was the original post, then the entire thread is removed.

I've often felt 'posters' remorse' over things I've said on the board. There's a very narrow window now where an OP can delete their post. When I've asked, Ikcuts has been very accomodating and cooperative in removing my offending posts and I really appreciate that. Fuzzy was that way, too.
The removal of posts probably isn't necessarily more frequent with one provider poster than with other posters. It's when one joins in that post that it's noticed, otherwise, posts often disappear and no one notices.

The policy was changed about 10 months ago. Also,  alias posts can't be edited and that sucks too. One has to wait 18 hours or more in some cases for an edit to go up. I've complained about both to no avail.

...if you fuck up a post,
1. copy & paste subject & message to word document.
2. delete message. then delete subject & write "self deleted"
3. if you have a pic, delete http shit.
4. go back to word, correct your shit, then open new post, copy & paste from word, add pic if you want, link, etc, the clic post message....all better now!

Can anybody explain how to make certain posters go away? That would be equally useful.

There are a bunch of gentlemen that killed their handles in May/June and are starting new ones. So, they look like newbies but are not.

But, I agree with you, his comment is pretty tough.

Pink,

I am no newbie.

The comment was not directed at anyone in particular, but more or less a general anti-troll/alias statement rooted in sarcasm.

Let's not over analyze it. If I had wanted to name names I most certainly would have. Then again, I wouldn't know who to name since the posters who erk me are always under an alias.

Tuff is a rock composed of volcanic ash - also known as tufa rock. Works great for buffering the PH in aquariums. How is my post "tuff"?

Oh...did you mean tough? Like you coming across state lines into my neck of the woods just to tell me to go to the newbie board? How exactly is it that YOU are so affected by my post? Not enough drama on the Florida board to keep you busy?

My comment was sarcastic and off the cuff, and frankly, since I am NOT a newbie, I should probably know better. Everybody around here is so fucking hyper-sensitive that naturally they all think I'm directing it at them. Lord knows no more shit needs to be stirred on this board.

I guess mine was another one of those posts that should be made to disappear...ironic.
