I have to question a questioner.............

Questioner, That is pretty strong to call a Pointman a Liar!  Everyone of the pointmen on TER are as honest and truthful as you can be.  I have not seen any issues with any of the pointmen to date.

It woudl help if you would NOT use an alias and post your thread under your REAL handle. Maybe this is too hot of a topic for you to step up to the plate on??

But I think it is Twin Cities Guy who needs to do the explaining about why he is posting on the other board as ProtestTER but yet he posts over here every day.  I'm not saying he has to choose one board over the other but rather asking why he acts over here like he doesn't like the other board and then acts over there like he doesn't like this board.  I don't think that posting under my usual handle makes a difference in this case because I posted the links that prove what I said.  Maybe I shouldn't have called him a pointman in the post but if I recall he think of himself as that but if he is going to play like this between the two boards what says he's totally credible?

Big Q - a very enlightening discovery and certainly looks like TC Dude got busted playing both ends of the board game.  As for his credibility?  Well, you made a good point, Thanks for the sleuthing and for providing all of us out here - the viewing public...something to smile smugly about.

Not even sure how the term "pointman" even made it into this discussion.  I did a quick search of the word "pointman" and no instances of his screen name came up.

BTW, being a "pointman" isn't a club or a secret society, nor is it a code of ethics.  It's just an attitude:  "If there's a traveler I really want to see, I'll make it a point to go in as early as possible and get the word out faster than the usual review cycle permits."  There's no oath, no dues, no lodge meetings!  ;^)

The other, almost unrelated genesis of the pointman concept came from previous threads where someone suggested "we should create a 'take one for the team' fund" to encourage people to take chances on unreviewed locals.  That's obviously unworkable, but we can accomplish the same thing by "spreading the workload..."  There are some great, low-priced gems out there--finding them and promoting them is the one thing we ALL can do to change the price problems that have been hotly debated here.  The challenge is finding them...  It's easier to take that risk and roll the dice on a longer shot every once in a while knowing that others are doing the same and we're all "working together" despite our widely varied interests and personalities.

As Omega has written, we are not a secert society. nor an
exclusive club, But we pointmen are honest and we are objective
and we are sharing in the tasks at hand of speading around the
information on new or unreviewed providers, The intent is to
get out the info as quickly as possibe, in order to alert the
members of the hobby of our expericeces, Anyone can be a pointman
if they so choose, All that is asked of them is to be honest
and fair in there reporting, and as always at the end of each
pointman post there is generally a YMMV,

None taken,  I have "heard" of some issues that TCG has brought about himself. I will not speak on those since I do not have enough first hand info nor enough info on what was going on between both boards.

Trooper and Omega have made excellent statements regardig the pointman program and that it is NOT an elite society.  It is one that searches out new ladies and gives a quick heads up report of praise or warning for the rest of the "Team".  That way you can narrow down your options of the providers you may wish to spend some time with.

Of course YMMV always applies!

I do find it disrepectable for you to try to out somebody under an ALIAS. Who should TCG respond to, not to mention some of the great sites he has provided us, what have you contributed, oh I forgot, aliases don't contribute, they just take SHOT'S

Ok, here is my take on this now.  What TCG says on TBD is that boards issue.  What TCG says on TER is this boards issue.

Why would YOU be overly concerned about his posts on both boards and his handle.  To me it sounds like you are trying to stir up trouble on THIS board.  Maybe you should you go go back to YOUR other board and post there.  Since you can not post under your REAL handle.

If you have something constructive to say, by all means, bring it on! Otherwise, save your destructive behavior for other boards or venues.

TCG, don't ever let anyone tell you don't have common sense  and great deductive reason!  You hit the hammer directly on the nail!
