..... a day that celebrates LOVE?  Doesn't get any better than that, folks!

I hope y'all are having - or will have - a great Valentine's Day and will be able to spend at least part of it with someone you love. Those are my plans for this evening!  :)

There's been a lot written about love over the ages..... great words from many writers, poets, philosophers, teachers..... and lovers. But I think the best treatise on love ever penned was written by a guy a long time ago, in an attempt to explain to an entire community what love is all about. I've posted his words below. You may already know them. I hope you enjoy them on this Day of Love.

As I mosey on down the road, I want to thank the providers who've shown me much patience and kindness, and made me feel like the World's Greatest Lover for an hour or few even though I'm far from it. Yeah, I know it's P4P and all that. I get that. But I know some Minnesota providers for whom their work transcends P4P - and with one amazing woman in particular, to the point of caring enough about a client to help him through some rough times, knowing full well it meant losing a customer and a revenue stream. No.... it's not JUST P4P for many of you, is it?

Have a great V-Day, everyone!

If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love,
I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge;
if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast
but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous, it is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered,
it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails.

If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing;
if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child;
when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face.
At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.

So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

...I've recited this by rote since childhood they are wise words to help keep one grounded, balanced and in perspective. The message is timeless.

"For a prostitute is a deep pit; an adulteress is a narrow well. She lies in wait like a robber and increases the traitors among mankind."
