Stealing an alias?

It is a good thing we don't pay for an alias. Someone posted under the alias the_grey_ghost., which is exactly like mine except he put the period (.) at the end. Hummmmm.

Fortunately, he didn't say anything to get me in trouble with the people who actually know who I am, but I think it is interesting that he wanted that alias so bad he didn't put a number, letter or something else in the name to set it off.

Could it be some new trouble lurking in the boards?

Anyway, my alias the_grey_ghost (no period) will now retire, a great alias who has met an untimely end!

Warning: watch your alias' for similar sinister developments...

A dot, dash or period being the only difference, but the same words used by someone else.
I lost count on how many times I wanted a new alias, and someone had already taken it. I will sometimes vary it with dots or dashes to see if it sticks.

You are giving yourself too much credit in the originality department. I don't see anything sinister about someone else using 3 common words.
