Its walk in downtown Minneapolis payment is based on your ability to pay.  Full Std test with HIV is $230 They ask you at least pay $20.  It can be busy or dead.  Depends on the day.  It is not anonymous though, if you have an STD they are required to report it to the state and they will need your ssn to see you.  Other than that its a nice place and the staff are friendly and helpful.  I got the results from my test in 3 days.  If you test positive they will treat you if you go back.  If you have warts or herpes they claim they can treat those on the initial visit.  Treatment is free or a minimal donation is requested.  If its HIV then they refer you somewhere else.   I was in and out in within an hour.  I suggest going early in morning.

Otherwise you have to go with one of the many internet testing companies whose prices are much higher mostly above $300 and from what I learned in researching many are not very accurate and they wont give you any meds or treatment if you do have an STD.

Hope that helps.

RDC is very clean and professional, and they ask for a minimum amount of info that they don't seem to share with anyone else, but might go into the HCMC system (my contact info was available from the RDC when I went to HCMC emergency room this year, sort of surprised me but I don't need to hide from anyone. Someone with a wife might want to call and ask about what records are shared with the hospital so she won't see it?)

Just saying. And all is well over here :)

The Red Door (well, I think they've changed their name recently, but it's still in the same building at 5th and Portland) is a GODSEND. Make an appointment with Krystal if you can, she is lovely & absolutely nonjudgmental. I have been seeing her for years!

They are in Uptown, and provide a wide spectrum of sliding-scale health services. You must be uninsured or underinsured to be seen there, though (you could lie about it, but that would be kinda shitty).

Been there, done it.  Take the advice to get there early.  Later in the day when I have been there, it's been crowded, and some people might be uncomfortable in the crowd.

I have found the service to be excellent.  You get  some personal consultation that was very non judgemental and helpful.  They will take what you can pay.

Thanks, Remy.

I've made an appt. for next week.  They asked for lots of info: name, address, phone, SSN, place of birth, income.  I was ready for that and gave fake ones for all.  From other postings, I see that I'll need to have those memorized when I go.

I was a little surprised that they asked for income.  I guess it's to see it what you're wanting to pay is in line with your income?  I wasn't ready for that one.

At any rate, thanks for your feedback.  Did you have to supply all the info like I did?

I went to red door for my first routine screening. Not the least bit scary or intimidating or judgmental. I called and made an appointment for the next day, went in at 8AM, I was one of 2 patients in the waiting area. Results got posted to MyChart the minute they were available. I will probably go again in 6 months depending on how active I am. Paid $50 since that's what I could afford at the time.
