Second, a successful vasectomy prevents new sperm from getting into the system. It does nothing to flush out the sperm already in the system which can remain potent for more than a month. That is why

I've had a vasectomy and can report the patient is told all of these things repeatedly, both before and after surgery. If Miggs really just had a vasectomy, and is really serious about going BBFS one week later, then he is seeking a provider "willing" to have him inject both his blood and his active sperm directly into her vagina.

And I actually felt pretty good after a week.  I think a lot depends on when you get the vasectomy; from what I've read it's become much simpler and easy to recover from in recent years.
