Fly me to you!! I'd love to babers, but I want the SkyMiles...

...I think it would be fun to fly a woman in to meet me in some other city, say, Las Vegas, Phoenix or San Francisco and I have the means and motivation to make it happen but...I'm just enough of a cheap ass bastard that I feel I should get the SkyMiles rewards if I were to do this. I love earning SkyMiles and I can double dip by charging the airline ticket on my SkyMiles approved credit card and by when the trip actually occurs. Moving up on your favorite airline's hierarchy of preferred travelers has a significant impact on the perks you receive and the way you're treated as customer. However...this would require me to order the ticket under the real name and date of birth of my guest. Something, I believe that is far off limits for most women. ...Or, is it? I would never ask this of a woman that I'd never met so there needs to be a high level of mutual trust. Is there another way that a gentleman can cover a woman's airfare and still earn his SkyMiles? If I give her my SkyMiles account number and SkyMiles CC number to make her airfare purchase would this work?

Of course, I would have have no intention of staying with the lady during her visit but would likely offer her a stipend for her to get her own room and encourage her to see other clients during her stay and give me preferential treatment, at her regular rates, when I wanted to meet with her.

I thought the Minnesota board would be a great place to pose this question as there are so many more savvy Hobbyists and experienced Providers than on most other boards.

Thanks!  :)

In my experience, the passenger is the one eligible to earn the FF miles, not the person who paid for the ticket--whether it was with cash or FF miles. Sorry.

Yep, pretty sure that's how it works.

...SkyMiles for the ticket purchase on my airline associated credit card. I'm thinking now that there is really little incentive in flying a woman to me that I couldn't otherwise find locally. Thanks.

Oh, I don't know about that. It could be a lot of fun flying a provider to meet up with you someplace, even if she's a local provider, under the right circumstances.

And if you want to double-dip on the miles, you could buy the ticket on your FF credit card, and then you fly to her. :)

Some providers offer travel rates on their sites and even those who don't may be willing to do so.  So, yes there are providers who will give you their real names.

my experience is that they asked for the travel funds(Airline gift card) and arrange the trip themselves

...although it seems like pulling teeth to get straight, frank information :D . I want to thank the Providers, Hobbyists, and schedulers who PM'd me and actually gave me helpful and realistic information about flying a companion to meet me. I really have no interest in knowing a Provider's true name but, funny, it is very common in my experience, for Providers to share their true first names with me and some have told me their last names, too, without my even asking.

Again, I find little to no incentive in flying a Provider to me if I can't earn the SkyMiles or the MQMs. It's simply easier and much cheaper to shop locally. But, if a lady were to make me an offer I couldn't refuse....   ;)

If you want something pay for it. Why are you worrying about your frequent flyer miles. Extremely classless in my estimation. If you're a man of means and class just reimburse her for the full first-class cost of her ticket and room. Man up!

As usual an alias has to be snarky when a more well written response would suffice.  So much for HAPPINESS ladies and gents.

You're hilarious! If you're going for medallion miles MQMs then only you can fly. However, if you have a free companion ticket (maybe they should have an escort ticket) with your current status then you fly to pick her up then bring her back....earning lots of miles and not paying for her flight. Book her at a SPG hotel (many in SF/Phx) and earn more.

After paying for 1st class cross country flights for travel dates...I've provided a lot of qualifying miles & $'s - you'd think I'd get a discount, but NOT. Maybe the next time you're hanging around the MSP Sky Club you can teach me how to be a cheap bastard. Good Luck

...have earned a companion ticket and my companion can travel with me anywhere domestically for free. I've never used it in part for reasons I have already stated. At MSP, you can usually find me at the Concourse G Skyclub. Try pinging me  next time you're there and I'll buy you a drink and some snacks. Oh, wait...drinks and snacks are free at the Skyclub...well, aren't we a couple of cheap bastards!? I never fly 1st class unless it's a free upgrade. I find that I arrive at the same destination, at exactly the same time and for half the cost as those sitting up front. Was my post showing my naivete' about flying with guests really hilarious? Amusing, maybe. I bet stand up comedians love having you in their audience. ;)
