END OF MESSAGE

There was a thread about grammar and spelling a while ago, which prompts this one:

I was reading massage reviews, and was amazed at how many times "massage" is spelled "message"!

"Massage" is what I want her to give me.

"Message" is what she sends me on her phone or in an e-mail.

No big deal...except that it made it hard to read the reviews, constantly having to slow down to ask, "Which does he mean here: 'massage' or 'message'?"

OK.  I'm done venting.

og

P.S.: My other pet spelling peeve is "discrete" for "discreet."  "Discreet" is what I want her to be (i.e., not give my name to LE or call my SO).  "Discrete" denotes something that's separate and distinct, and I can't even think of how it would be used in a TER context....

Hey 666 who about,   She opened her bedside table to show me 87 discrete dildos.  OK, sorry I couldn't pass up the chance.  Nobody has ever argued I'm not a bit of a smart ASS.   bigdell

Just as I hit send I saw the mistake. Boy am I red faced.    bigdell

I am constantly amazed at the spelling errors in BP. I guess we don't call them for their academic talents though.  But it would be fun to get a thread going of the crazy / funny errors that we find out there.
I especially like this one:

What the heck is "vulumptuous"??!! Talk about just destroying the word!

I was going to say voluminous and voluptuous and maybe Vulcan. Yep, she's a big curvy Vulcan.

and so on. OK, that was overkill.

How about if we acknowledge (my personal pet peeve) that no ordinary sentence should start with "Me"?

You would never say "Me am going to see a Tarzan movie."
So why would you ever say "Me and my friends are going to a Tarzan movie"?

I've had several helpful assists from my phone as I use it to text and send messages.

The clever lil device seems hellbent on changing massage to message.

Got to love technology!!!

And that might explain why those kinds of errors creep into ads (at least some of the time).

Being a victim of a sever spelling impediment, I have my own pet peeve BP issue.

Come on! A "stallion" is a male horse. It has a dick like the fat end of a baseball bat!

And then every so often we get one of those "Itallian Stallion" ads...  Wasn't that the movie character Rocky Balboa?

Yea, that turns me on! A sweaty actor with a speach impediment or a large horse dick. WTF!

You never know, it could be a stallion in a mare's clothing

*this is erotic massage and not affiliated with the law.

Would we expect that an erotic massage would be affiliated with the law?

Being a retired cabinet maker,I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say"height' sounding like hyth. It's the same as weight;pronounced as a 't'.that just drove me nuts for years!

While I tend to agree that grossly mispelled words can be irritating and might indicate the level of intelligence one might expect from a provider, let's be real -- we aren't hiring them 'cause they are Harvard grads.

That's right.  I was so good she got up and closed the protective barriers over her windows.
