I have a visit in October. Here in Chicago one day can be 70 and the next can be 40. Does anyone know how the weather will be the second week of August? Should i just pack sweaters and long pants, and tank tops and short both? Thanks!
Temps in mid-October (you meant mid-October, not mid-August, right?) can range from 70s to below freezing--sometimes in the same day. So check the forecast right before you pack but bring some kind of jacket just in case.
I remember because I went deer hunting after that and I think that it was still snowing or maybe it was just the wind.
Many years ago, I met up with a provider that came up here from the deep south…she has never been here before. It was August, sitting in a restaurant and one of her first questions was “I didn’t know that it was green up here”…the foliage. My answer was “it is not the tundra up here”
Vividly! It's burned into my brain. The only other one is 1968, March blizzard in Duluth. 26" snow followed by -20 Ff or the next week. Power was out for a week.
This link will provide the answer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Minnesota about 1/3 of the page down is a chart with highs and lows for various cities in Minnesota. Hope this helps
