How far do I go researching?

As far as I can, though sometimes I fail miserably, as I did last week. I search google for the images and phone number, I search TER for the phone number, and I hit up tineye as well, though google image is often better. There are so many out there that have no real reviews, though, that I'm used to taking one for the team at this point.

So last night I opened an email from one of my ATF's who had a review rejected because the provider had delisted. He was concerned because it was a bad experience & being the awesome, selfless gent he is wanted to get the word out to help prevent others from making the same mistake.
He emailed her ad to me per my request & my head fell into my hands as I immediately recognized her. Yup! There was indeed a reason she delisted (herself) Fortunately however she was not smart enough to completely cover her tracks & eliminate all the intel related to her from our beloved internet & I was able to send him "The rest of the story."

This is just one of many times I have come across this. He is DEFINITELY NOT alone. So I was thinking perhaps the time is long overdue to discuss the many resources available outside TER, Tineye, ect that will be helpful to one another to ensure your money is well spent.

Here are a few off the top of my head thoughts that come to my mind.

Google search is your best friend. Search for names, phone number ect using keywords such as reviews, TER. You get the idea.

Tineye, Google images & remember if you see a pic on BP that doesn't offer the option to enlarge it is a download (STOLEN)

Backchannel with one another. Private message reviewers. Utilize your Reviewer only board. In other words ask & be open to being asked & ready to help each other in any way possible. Keeping each other safe & smiling. PRICELESS!

Safe wishes & warm, sensual hugs-n-kisses!

More often than not, a BP pic that doesn't offer the "enlarge" option is probably "stolen"... BUT not always!

I did a little checking on this one day recently when I had some time to kill.  I looked at several dozen BP ads with pics that could not be enlarged, and used Google Image Search to check them out.  From what I could tell, a high percentage were "stolen".  But some seemed genuine, i.e. sourced from the same person who ran the ad.

So like anything else in the hobby... YMMV.  But in general, it's good to be wary of BP pics that can't be enlarged.

Google Image Search is a great tool.  :-)

I am not interested in TOFTT. I just use TER and see providers with several reviews. I usually read EVERY review (especially the lower scored ones) to get a good idea of what I am in store for.
I have even gone so far as to carefully ask about certain services if I can't make sure from their reviews, once I have been verified.
After my first session with a provider, the infamous "Angel", I am not interested in surprises. Most of the time they aren't happy ones.

This is often stated and repeated... To which I must ask the question, how does one become a reviewed provider?

... is something I've heard of several new providers doing, and I think it's a great idea:  have a fellow provider refer one of their trusted clients to her.  This should be someone the experienced provider knows well, and knows he will write a fair and honest review.  There is an understanding and agreement that this guy will write the initial review (and fill out the profile) for the newbie provider after the first session.

It's a win-win for everyone.  There's almost no risk for either the new provider or the first client of the new provider, because they were introduced by someone they both know and trust.  And the new provider gets her first review, without the risks of a "TOFTT" deal.

Wow, brilove, sounds like you've had some good results. I'm glad it helped in any way, even just a little. :)
