What has happen to you and some others sounds all too familiar…because it has happened to the best of us in the past. There also have been incidents where relatives of the hobbyists have received that dreaded phone call. So, I hope that most of you guys do not have to go through this harassment.

an informative post on what is apparently "going on" around here. I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've had, and I hope you do not hesitate to name names once (and if) your investigative work comes to an end.
use prepaid phones and P.O. box #'s or not true addresses. Maybe some one can remind us fellow's on the sure fire ways to protect ourselves! I know that there has been a lot of chat about this lately, I myself have been doing good, thank you very much.... but I think that I am lucky. Let it go guys! what is the secret?

I do use a prepaid phone. It really is the only way to go if you want to be totally safe but and there is a big but here. If you have a hobby phone you can not give out your personal information it's that easy..
I will admit I have gotten a couple of those silent calls to my real phone as well, and if they are related to the hobby the only way they could be... is if someone shared my cell number from the past when I didn't have a hobby phone.
With the environment the way it is around here I would have to say play with those you know...and if you want to see someone new that is local be very very careful in what personal information you give out, try using references if you can...and yes I know most of the woman are safe!! Remember all you have on them is some made up name and a phone number... Kinda makes it hard to hobby when the trust has been broken out there!!
