Minnesota

Here is the statute

To clear things up somewhat, I was advised from an CD attorney that yes reviews or mini reviews could be a felony. Just like in a e-mail or by phone when you talk/promote about an escort and what happens. I know that talking by phone can be a stretch (you could be talking about cars for an example), but as everybody knows LE can still get your e-mail after you delete it. Who knows how long they could be investigating. Here is a copy of the Minnesota Statute. I think what we should be concerned about is subdivision 1a

609.322 Solicitation, inducement, and promotion of
 prostitution.

Subdivision 1.    Individuals under age 18.  Whoever,
while acting other than as a prostitute or patron, intentionally
does any of the following may be sentenced to imprisonment for
not more than 20 years or to payment of a fine of not more than
$40,000, or both:

   (1) solicits or induces an individual under the age of 18
years to practice prostitution;

   (2) promotes the prostitution of an individual under the
age of 18 years; or

   (3) receives profit, knowing or having reason to know that
it is derived from the prostitution, or the promotion of the
prostitution, of an individual under the age of 18 years.

Subd. 1a.    Other offenses.  Whoever, while acting
other than as a prostitute or patron, intentionally does any of
the following may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than
15 years or to payment of a fine of not more than $30,000, or
both:

   (1) solicits or induces an individual to practice
prostitution; or

   (2) promotes the prostitution of an individual; or

   (3) receives profit, knowing or having reason to know that
it is derived from the prostitution, or the promotion of the
prostitution, of an individual.

   Subd. 1b.    Exceptions.  Subdivisions 1, clause (3),
and 1a, clause (3), do not apply to:

   (1) a minor who is dependent on an individual acting as a
prostitute and who may have benefited from or been supported by
the individual's earnings derived from prostitution; or

   (2) a parent over the age of 55 who is dependent on an
individual acting as a prostitute, who may have benefited from
or been supported by the individual's earnings derived from
prostitution, and who did not know that the earnings were
derived from prostitution; or

   (3) the sale of goods or services to a prostitute in the
ordinary course of a lawful business.

Subd. 1c.    Aggregation of cases.  Acts by the
defendant in violation of any one or more of the provisions in
this section within any six-month period may be aggregated and
the defendant charged accordingly in applying the provisions of
this section; provided that when two or more offenses are
committed by the same person in two or more counties, the
accused may be prosecuted in any county in which one of the
offenses was committed for all of the offenses aggregated under
this paragraph.

What happened...what about the drama? I just wanted to comment on a number of things

For everybody that is in this lifestyle, you should have legal counsel…no matter if you are a guy or gal…so you should get one soon.  There are a number of them that specialize in this area, but in my opinion there is one that really shines. Did you know that there is a Minnesota statute that includes this? Communication between two parties, like client A and B when they are talking about provider C is a felony. I’m talking about communication like BC, e-mail or phone. So, if you say something how your toes got curled...felony. I thought I would just inform you

There is something else that has been happening for a while and most recently. Probably what I’m thinking of saying that's in my mind would get me moderated or banned from this board so I’m going to tone it down. YOU ARE POND SCUM!! Ok I felt better. We are defiantly getting a bad reputation around the country, I’m sure we are not the only ones that have this problem, but we seem to have our share. There are a number of travelers that are getting let’s say “threats against them”.  One of the main themes is from a “local provider” saying this and that if you come. This tactic has been going on for a while.  Now the other is actually more serious and that involves more of a physical means…if you know what I mean. I was asked WTF has happened to this town...I just heard the toilet flush.

So Mr. or Mrs. pond scum, leave, get out and crawl back into your own little world

Good Luck Jim, this tape will self destruct in 5 seconds

I looked at my previous post and maybe you got confused on what I was saying about the Minnesota Law. If two guys are talking and one is saying this is how his toes got curled (you know what I mean)that is the felony. If you just talking about her in general, that is not.

Remember things you do on the internet seem to never go away

That seems to be a real stretch and difficult to prove, however, you have my full attention!

Even harded to get banned, but not impossible,,, so if you'd like to play it safe, just PM me anything you think is "questionabe" before posting it.
I'd be intrested in any "legal opinions" on these issues......

I will definitely agree with the bad rep :(  Everyone is scared and headed towards the hills. The buzz isn't all that good :(

I don't think many newer ladies will be visiting anytime soon unless they have an established clientele and it seems that the agencies are avoiding the drama too.

I have been fortunate.  I haven't received any legit threats (except one from a newly registered email just saying to watch my back things are hot).  Maybe someone felt the need to warn some of the ladies.

Hopefully the drama will die down.  This latest episode has caused the old guard to retire and I don't think they will ever be as visible as before...that's IF they even return.

There aren't as many helpful posts or pointman reviews anymore which are great for both the ladies and the gents.  I think it will take some time for the TC to recover from this :(

You are right, everyone should be aware of the risks and consequences and seek legal counsel to know their rights.

Wasn't this whole hobby thing suppose to be fun ? Geeesssh (rolls eyes) It's just a shame that such an active wonderful community has been destroyed in less than a month :(

perhaps there is a silver linning. Though the numbers aren't known we've lost both providers and hobbiests. This might tend to drive prices down to a more realistic level.

Yes and No.  For example, in South Florida you can get an apt from $125 - $200.00 from the local ladies.  The ads you see on eros for 3 and above are usually for the tourists.  They have a local board and these ladies get plenty of business there.  (BTW you have to be smokin' to get over 2 from the locals).

What happened was all the other ladies hit the road touring for 2 weeks maybe more a month.  They stopped seeing locals since it was their down time.  Or in my case, I don't play in my own neighborhood for fear of being recognized and outed in the grocery store, golf course etc.(not everyone has discretion and WILL come up and just start chit chatting regardless of if you are by yourself or not).

Not many providers tour Florida...if they do it's more of a vacation than a tour.  They take calls to cover expenses and just let their hair down.  The one thing we have that TC doesn't have that keeps the hobbying cost lower in Fl. is all the HOT latinas and European girls that come their to live (yowza but some of those Brazilian girls are hot :)

I don't know about TC's local market but it will just stop the traveling ladies from coming since they have a price point that they will not go below due to expenses, hotel etc.

No disrespect...I am just curious, what you consider a reasonable rate ?  I am amazed what some people consider reasonable...some places it's 3 some it's 2 and in South Florida 150 - 180 is reasonable and a LARGE majority of the guys will not break that price point.

"Competition" is good for price control - however "market saturation" is a difficult thing for the "supply side".......

The only issue I ever have with pricing is the "fluctuations" that happen right at the "point-of-sale"!
Or sometimes even AFTERWARDS!

Thank you for a reasoned response.

You may also want to check the LA board and see another episode of drama playing out.  Perhaps it is infectious, like the recently recreated 1918 flu virus.

OK folks, I'm a lawyer and everything that's being said here about being busted is a joke!  Please...think with common sense..a conversation is going to get you busted????...Yeah, right.  If anyone gets busted for a conversation, I will represent for free..client or provider.  C'mon, let's have fun and not worry about this BS.

..but your message is straight up common sense.

In Fact He Is A Lawyer, But Not A Criminal Defense Attorney.  In Minnesota, Promoting Prostitution Is A Felony.  The Potential Exists That One's Posts On An Escort Board Could Be Construed As Promoting Prostitution.  You Be The Judge, Not bltzfgrw :) As To What You Should Be Posting About.  Good Luck!

I guess I am safe. I have never talked about any real occurences. But then again, this venue is all about fantasy get togethers. I love to tell stories, I doubt I am alone. I know my reviews are fake, aren't all of them?

this is story telling kind of  like fishing stories, you should have seen the one I caught yesterday!! or what about the one that got away, embellishing stories, thats all part of the fun is it not

I'm just a made-up character too!

Nobody actually thought I really existed and actually DID any of those things I've mentioned here over time - Did they??

Besides, it's humanly impossible for such a "perfect" moderator to actually exist! - I'm just to good to be true!   ;)

It's a stretch to think that they can get a supena for your email or TER PM's.

If you solicit a woman from out of town to visit and then derive an exchange that benefits you, yes you might be on their radar.  But, it would take her cooperation with LE stating you solicited her visit.

If you're an agency, you're on their radar.  But, that again takes cooperation from the escort or hobbyist after being busted.

The threats we hear of are as illusive as Katie.  Someday an escort might come forward with an email.  I'm not interested in hearing about it from chicken little.

If someone has been harmed physically, they should call the police.

Yep...the sky is falling...the sky is falling. To be perfectly safe...folks should be wrapped in saran wrap for health concerns, add a gag so folks can't say anything incriminating & ear plugs so they don't hear anything either. OMG how kinky!!  lol As that nonexistent Ben points this is all a fantasy! hehe  Christ, life has risks... learn to manage them but don't throw out the baby with the bath water!

The man speaks the truth, if you are on the radar you are a target.  On the other hand, trying to prove a promotion charge for emails ain't gonna happen.  Check Minn. Stat. 609.321 subd. 7.  Always look at the definitions.  Play safe, don't be stupid and have fun out there.
