Curious about something, I hope this is not an ignorant post. But previous posts about stings made me start to worry and I'm a worry-wart.
I have been seeing someone for quite a while who is UTR these days. When we meet it is by private messaging not through a response to a BP ad, etc. We meet at a hotel.
Question: Is there the potential for an undesired ending, i.e. LE knocking at the door? Or am I largely worrying about nothing
that a provider can be turned by LE. Other than that you don't have an increased risk.
the traditional sting and hotel management suspecting something and calling LE. If the girl is only seeing you, there is unlikely to be an issue. If the girls is seeing others too and management is noticing something, more likely hotel staff will attempt to deal with the situation first and if she doesn't take the hint, followup with a call to LE.
IMO, stay at higher end hotels with traffic, act normally, change hotels frequently, check in/out at different times and using side entrances will limit the hotel's ability to detect a pattern.
With traditional stings, my advice would be to do your homework and don't walk into one. You know stay away from known hot hotels, too low hourly/30 min rate by provider, no screening, come anytime mentality. These are all red flags.
With hotel outcalls, I worry about nosy hotel management recognizing a known provider as LE would be less likely to take a risk in an uncontrolled environment. I try to be always nice and polite with staff, mind my own business and not draw attention to myself. Always helps to have prepared answers for some of the obvious questions like why are you here?, who are you with? etc, etc.
Remember that most hotels have an image and reputation to protect, negative publicity is not good for them. If you help them maintain that image or improve it, more than likely they will stay out of the way.
The longer that has been the case, the less likely she is to be recognized either by LE or the hotel staff if they are on the lookout. There are still no guarantees but the odds are in your favor.
A couple of thoughts...
1. The word "sting" is completely misused here on TER. If you remember the movie "The Sting", the necessary ingredient that makes a play "a sting" as opposed to just being a setup is the "double cross" aspect of it. If LE runs an add on BP, and you reply to it, set up a time to meet, and are busted on arrival, that's not a sting, that's simply a bust.
What makes a sting a sting is when a real provider gets busted, and then is coerced into "turning"... She accepts additional appointments with real clients, who then get busted... And she does this as a way to get a reduced/eliminated sentence out of fear that the consequences of being arrested for prostitution are worse than they actually are. It's the "flip" of the provider that makes it a sting. Just wanted to get that off my chest, not that it will make any difference.
2. As to your UTR... There is no way that, based on a call from hotel management, that LE will just come knock on the door and arrest you for making monkey noises behind closed doors. At that point there would be absolutely no way to prove that money changed hands, etc. I agree that LE is often given way too much latitude, but initiating an arrest without probable cause creates a lot of potential risks for LE. So there's very little risk on that front.
The real risk to you is the sting... the kind of sting I mentioned above... LE sets up an appointment with her... She gets busted... they twist her arm into "turning" and taking the appointment with you... They have your emails and/or monitored phone calls as probable cause you are a bad boy, and then you get arrested when you arrive.
If she really is UTR, (and isn't the type that will appear to the check-in clerk to be under age or coerced) this is very, very unlikely.
