So... Back East and on the Jersey Shore St Patty's Day was a really big deal. I miss seeing the green everything for a day like bagels and green beer, my mom would put green food coloring in the milk to go with our Lucky Charm's. Every restaurant had their own spin and the smells corned beef and sauerkraut were everywhere. It was also a free for all weekend of drinking and dancing and more drinking of epic proportions in Wildwood (Big shout out to Crosslake for there weekend of activities here in MN, but so not even close). I grew up very sure I was Irish to the core...alas my 1/6 Irish genetics, found out through a Christmas present ancestry DNA kit, now sees that St. Patrick's Day is a way to create magic for children, watch the Chicago River turn green overnight, and demand a kiss because fuck it "I am Irish!!!" (a little).
