hi guys,

just a reminder that the "AD" function is currently malfunctioning on the new site. there is a glitch that bumps up a provider's ad whenever it is commented on. this is unfair to all providers as it totally interrupts the original order of our ads.

until it can be fixed (soon I hope - Puck - right??) PLEASE either send a PM with your comment, or don't comment at all. this goes for the ladies too - let's all work together on this so the site continues to be a fair advertising venue for all of us.

thanks a bunch!

Providers need to realize that guys don't care about the drama of bumping.

Your ad will be seen regardless of whether its on the first page or the second page or the third.

they aren't interested in the girl. So both ladies and guys don't like the bumping. It's not inclusive to provider drama.

Maybe if it were a drop dead gorgeous lady's ad that kept floating to the top, but let's be serious, that's rare.

It's capitalism - nothing fair about it.

The new site works the way every other internet forum works...unfortunately...everything gets bumped with a new post. Good for the ladies who can draw the comments. Not so good for those who can't. That's life.

Guys will stop commenting on ads only when TER no longer allows them the option. No public service announcement about fairness in advertising is going to stop it, you should know better.

Now if they wanna just scrap the whole shitty new site and leave things as they were, I'm all for it, or at least leave the old one running indefinitely.

From the sound of things, I think most of us are still over here on the classic version anyway, where nothing gets bumped.

Change can bite my ass - new TER blows. :~

Old TER is history if we post or don't post. They give a fuck about post counts? Pffft. Lil Phil is only half right. They care about $. Nothing else. Like he said, they read the boards, they know how people feel - they are calling our bluff.

Simple fact is - they are the only game in town...at least in THIS town. With the exception of the now defunct MFP, all those "other" boards are and have been ghost towns for years. And no matter how much people bitch and complain, they will keep donating their money because they want to play the game so they need to use the resources here to protect themselves. Simple as that.

So for my part, since I'm going to keep the service anyway, I'm going to go ahead and excersize my right to bitch about the things I don't like.

my comment was simply designed to inform those who weren't aware of the issue commenting on ads is creating.

of course it's your choice if you continue the behavior or not. i'm not your mother and i'm not giving out spankings. i just think, as a community, it would be a kind thing to be cognizant of until a solution is implemented.

While considerate of both you and Gia Marie to ask this, I tend to think that the more this is seen publicly as a problem that keeps happening, the more likely TER is to get it fixed quickly.

Lots of companies at one time thought they owned the world and really didn't need to cater to what their customers wanted.

Case in point: General Motors.  Now to a large degree a subsidiary of the US Federal Government as otherwise the whole company would have gone belly up.

TER may well decide not to pay atention to the unhappiness of their customers.  But if they o, sooner or later someone will come in to their markets and knock them a peg or two or even out completely.
