As we begin to enter the "Minneapolis Spring"...

... I wonder what the state of the hobby will be like.  As the weather warms, crowds will find it much more pleasant to go outside and collectively show their enthusiasm as the judicial systems grinds it's way to a not-guilty plea against the over charged but publicly condemned MPD officers.  I see they City of Mpls has issued a directive to it's businesses to digitize or make copies of all their important documents and store in a separate location.  Sound advice from the leaders that have tried to abolish the police.

Is the hobby going to move to the 'burbs for the summer?

Then who knows but if the city has any sense, no decision will be announced until adequate forces are deployed to deal with any trouble.

Thought usb and dinky closed up and headed to BL. just in time.

Spring has sprung with the murder over the weekend in the  autonomous zone. There seems to be a different vibe coming out of there then our local medina is reporting.
They'll riot either way. guilty of a leaser charge, riot. Incent, riot. Then if there's the sentencing phase more riot's.
Even today's ruling on reinstating  the 3rd degree charge could set them off. Then there's the trail of the other three officer's rinse and repeat.
Whatever the outcome is. it won't be good enough. Might be better off throwing the trail and fighting them off once.
It looks like there prepared for it. But, will they actually use the force needed.
Stay safe

If you want to comment on availability of providers during the trial, or ponder whether the providers will host in calls out in the suburbs, that should be fair game. But avoid interjecting opinions on the trial or the riots itself.

Another thread on this topic was exiled to the Politics & Religion board yesterday.

I'm in Uptown.  I lived and worked through the last ones,  we can make it through this one.  But I'm also not stupid so I'm heading out of state the morning  the verdict is being read.  At least that's my tentative plan.  But I'm open to suggestions.  I just don't want to be at ground zero when the fire is lit.
But like I said,  I'm open to suggestions.

I lived and worked through the last one as well and my new static incall will be in the Uptown area. I'm also a photographer so the last set of protests, I was out every day/night photographing what was happening. There are photos from every major confrontation from the Midway area in St. Paul, the 3rd precinct, I-35W bridge, etc. I have no intention of leaving the morning of the verdict. Instead, I'll be here with my Sony Alpha, a few SD cards, and a few spare batteries. I'll ride it out solo or with someone 😈

You might want to write a congratulatory note to the mayor of Bloomington: "We appreciate your city stepping up in these trying times and providing a safer haven for us pencil necked suburbanites to engage in prostitution in your fair city and not have to dirty ourselves in Mpls".   I think the mayor would be thrilled to know this.

I've seen some of the photos she took from the protests. She's got a great eye and I'm not surprised some of them sold out.
