I know that Google tracks all that you do while you are logged in.  Also, YouTube requires one to receive a text message if one wants access to the 'restricted' (adult) material.

Does anyone know of a way to receive a text message without giving out one's cell phone?  Why have google track me when I would prefer they do not.

advertisers pay for visuals on its site.  When I watch TV or listen to the radio, I'd prefer not to listen to commercials but nobody is forcing me.  How would you like to whip out that credit card for every search?

I'm just saying that Google links to YouTube and I would prefer that they not know that I am looking at 'restricted' sites or any sites for that matter.  My understanding is that if you use Google's toolbar and login, all of your destinations are recorded.  Too much big brother stuff for me.

I think it's exactly the opposite.  Let's say you used a credit card to pay for each search.  Now you have paper, electronic, financial and legal trails for every search you make.  Then big brother would really be watching you.  Some other nosey people you know might also find out stuff that is none of their business.
