Good points, Providers, Do "Specials" work well?

The 49 entries on Eros today is probably the lowest I've seen since I started.  Is this simply a reflection of the economy or something else?

I have been wondering the same thing. I would think more providers would be coming on the scene
not less.

I have noticed a lack of activity in general, I think the LE scare this summer has made many people reluctant to participate.

I had a provider friend who is new to the biz contact me recently wondering if I might know if someone had something negative about her on a board or something because her business was disconcertingly slow.

Providers, are things really, really slow for all of you?

The gals really don't like to let us know that biz is hurting because it can work towards are advantage...

Just my opinion

I agree that the slower the economy the more woman might consider providing because they may have been laid off from a civi job.  The fact that there are fewer providers on Ero would fly in the face of what we are being told about the economy.  I think maybe that drop in providers would point to something unrelated to the economy.  Maybe they were just cleaning up their servers by removing old entries.  It was just 72 a few days ago.

It seems to me that the best way to find out if a provider has enough business is to watch their donations.  A provider that is very busy would likely raise her costs just as a provider that is hungry would likely lower her costs.

Just my $.02.

It is pretty obvious that all business is down right now, which is talked about here frequently and my questions was asked in the context of helping another new provider understand what was going on.

I am wondering specifically about the last couple of weeks.

However, any hobbiest who might use a providers response to such a question as leverage to try and negotiate a lower rate is obviously a loser that should be avoided and all providers know this already.

Any providers who don't want to respond here but are willing to help me help a friend can always PM me.

Thanks

I was on Eros for a week but found it to be a huge hassle. You give someone else control, I couldn't change up pics as freely and they require a copy of your DL. I like to have control over my identity and my ads.
For me I continue to make some really good friends. I cannot explain how THIS board has added to my life and how greatful I am to all the fine gentlemen whom I've met.  I get to fullfill 2 basic needs with some really great people. But keep in mind I only see a small number of friends when I am available so that I can enjoy our time together as much as they do!

P.S. much to my dismay as I was writing this rcv'd an email from eros ( so I had to edit it) announcing shorter hold times, I know they dropped the prices for ads a while back, I think they are feeling the recession

ONe person mentioned that Eros is expensive for providers so that could be part of the issue there. However I would expect providers to lower their rates temporarily rather than commit to a permanently lower rate. Lots of "specials" lately is probably a sign of this. Do they work?

A while back, I had read an article somewhere that "adult" businesses were said to be recession-proof, such that publicly traded companies like the Rick's Cabaret strip-club chain were supposedly solid investments.

If I remember correctly, however, the gist of the article was that even Rick's business was down, and that was newsworthy.

So, it would seem that when ya gotta have it, ya gotta have it . . . up to a point.

In chatting with/trying to set up an appt. with several very good providers I've found them to be very busy.  Quality always sells when at a reasonable rate!

Eros has very specific rules and that along with expense has kept many providers away from it.

I'm as busy as I wish to be as a provider.
