most have nosey staff at the front door and can see everyone come and go.  It's okay to visit someone there once and a while but I would never work at one.  

She could try a sublease or, better yet, something like airbnb.

Very cool. theres even an AirBnB in st cloud. However, I would guess old people would be next to it, so I wouldnt do more than 2-3 nights max

I think he meant a more classy extended stay like the marriott, but I agree any hotel is risky. If you're just there for a day, or you go home after work, and you don't live there than it should be fine.
