Hey guys
As usual with anyone who asks for money up front, dont do it, just dont. As much as the little head is leading the charge the big head must prevail.
This one here - Miranda Horvath - who has a post on rub ratings runs the scam a little different.
She (he) (they) will schedule, give a general location, then as you drop a gift card at appointment. When on the way they will ask for the details on the card and not send address. All along she (they) pull you in, pic exchange, nice dialogue, back and forth chat etc...
From the ad I did my research and found several sites with the therapist name - Miranda Horvath. Read her background and thought at best this would be a CMT level session with some extra fun, if any. Then the rate came across at $200 and I thought that was alittle high must be extras.... and she (they) said the session was NURU. Here is a sequence of everything that happened
- Sent text from advertised ad on rubratings (504-814-8667) Did a google on number and no matches. Saw her pic with a certificate and full name on certificate. Searched that name and found considerable pages on professional massage, and a few body pics of her. Seemed legit at this point. Figured she was from Canada and here doing alittle different service.
- Received response and was told she was on rosewood Ave in stevens point - quick check and verified that street etc..
- was offered a 9am, we settled on a 4pm, all along good dialogue
- exchanged several texts on body art and had good conversation
- she (they) sent additional g-rated pics upon request, all of which were part of my own web search. So that was alittle suspect but also thought somewhat normal.
- was told she preferred apple gift card as compensation, but didnt insist on activation or proof of activation. This had me start the skepticism, but not insistence on the activation I thought it was an honest request.
- was told to contact 1 hr prior to confirm (at this point, aside from asking to bring a gift card, everything seemed normal)
- Texted one hr to confirm, she (they) replied and I was on my way from South MSP to Steven's area in anticipation of getting an address, which was ignored.
- Was asked if I stopped and picked up Apple Cards - I did and thought if I had to drop them instead of cash I would, but was alittle skeptical at this insistence. At this point the car stopped and turned around.
- Was asked to show proof I had purchased (I sent a snap of the cards, no activation codes etc..) full alarms started to go off as just an explanation didnt satisfy.
- Was told that she would not provide actual address until I sent the codes on back of each card, as she (they) wanted the actual numbers to verify the cards were legit. - lol, verified scam here, I had some fun with the back and forth on this one and told them to find another sucker etc...
I suspect this may not even be the therapist herself. Wondering if this person, who when researched, is in Canada, has been catfished on the internet and used for this scam.
BEWARE and be diligent, - Happy Hunting Friends
