Do you ever stop to think, "WTF am I doing?" (What's the correct punctuation there? doing?", doing"? or doing?"?)    :)

I just sat down and figured out how much I spent on the hobby in 2013 and it's shocking.

Things that added up that I hereby vow not to do in 2014, or maybe ever again:
"I'm having such a good time with the two of you, how about another hour?"
"I'm having such a good time with the three of you, how about another hour?" Seriously, I did that once. Never again. Friggin Phoenix. Never drink and hobby. :)
Internal dialogue "Let's see, I reached out to three providers, the first is unavailable, I made an appointment with the second, but the third just got back to me and says she would love to see me again. I don't want to hurt her feelings. I guess I better schedule back to back appointments." I did that several times.

I can't say I regret any of it, I saw some great ladies and had some very memorable appointments, but damn that added up. The rough hobby budget I came up with in the beginning of the year was totally blown out of the water, lol.

If I took that money and put it towards upgrading my car, I'd have one nice auto, but to quote Ferris, "a man with priorities so far out of whack doesn't deserve such a fine automobile."   :)

Anyone else try to budget for the hobby and find it impossible to stick to it

If you feel that you have had awesome experiences, then you simply should not regret the outlay of the cash.

I only question spending when I have had a crushing experience in the hobby.

Crushing experiences make me feel a little bit greedy. Simply, I could have rewarded myself rather than the provider.

In any event, I wish you the best as you develop a hobby budget

The correct way to punctuate every sentence that has quotation marks is to place the period, question mark, or exclamation mark inside the closing quote. That being said, I generally ask myself the same question while trying on stiletto heels.

...several years ago I started putting away $30 per paycheck to go into my hobby fund with an increase of $10/paycheck per year. I'm now up to $110/paycheck and it's not enough to keep up with the demand. That's OK, tho. Even tho I'm up to my arse in CC debt I can still afford to see high quality ladies. A man should set aside at least $10,000 if he's gonna party in Phoenix. Gawd I love that city!!! I wanna die of orgasm intoxication in that town. Don't worry about your debt 'cuz if you die young, your life insurance will be enough to pay off your debt and leave a little for your kids.

I  mean, seriously, bro, you're living the dream, right?! How many of your friends can honestly say that they've spilled their juice into the waiting lips of a gorgeous Latina while another one is sucking your balls? That's a once in a lifetime experience that can be repeated endlessly with the right budget. Remember, your first obligation is to yourself, then to your fellow hobbyists, then to your legacy!

Long live to every Hobbyist!!

That is a great way to save, that is how I tell my family I save my money... start at $10 a paycheck and it works up from there as time goes on ;) They buy it and try it themselves! Lol.

I want a dick and balls for a day just to live the good life of the hobbyist.... choosing his dream girl and having a seriously HOT affair for his chosen amount of time.

I think a budget is a good idea to keep yourself responsible and in check.... wavering is good every once and a while but over spending can be dangerous! Do the best you can, and that's all you can do. :)

Which made my wife ask what I was reading.
Great post. :)

But there is the occasional "emergency" expense that never seems to get properly accounted for! :D

You only live once.

I've budgeted and spent my normal or slightly less the last few years. I blew that out of the water this year. I started seeing someone who ended up getting almost all my budget...then went ahead and spent almost my normal with all the other ladies. To top it off, I have the problem that when I have a mediocre experience, I immediately try to make up for it the next night. Since night 2 ends up a rush selection sometimes, it isn't always great...and on to night number 3. Gets expensive sometimes, proof that it pays to do my homework.

I have a separate account set up specifically for the hobby or hobby related activities.  I have been doing this since June and have evolved to the point where it's never just an hour... it's always an evening or overnight.  So I can safely say I never expected to spend this much on the hobby.

That said, I don't regret it.... at least not at this point.  The hobby has brought a lot of fun and happiness and at this juncture I think it's worth it.  Luckily, I earn enough to where the amount I spend doesn't have any impact on my overall budget.  However, I am fundamentally a very conservative person who has always managed money extremely well; so when I think about what I spend on the hobby there is an inherent conflict within me.

When the woman I like to see is gone, she's gone.... when the hobby is over, it's over....  and there will be nothing to show for it except good memories.  So going forward into 2014 I could commit to spend less, but for now I'll probably continue the way I am because it  makes me happy.

I used to see the same lady about twice a month (not FS but was mind-glowingly awesome. Sweet Leah, wherefore art thou?). When she moved on and I cast around for a replacement, and quickly realized that it was going to be extremely hard to find the same spark and kind of gave up. I got a considerable pay bump at the same time, so I invested in a damn fine car and a gym membership & trainer (no, seriously) and I'm finding now that the end result has worked out, more or less.

Here's the 'but'...

I do miss the uncomplicated arrangement, and also the idea of living out a fantasy which can't be achieved in civvie life. I knew that any time I spent with my special lady wouldn't bleed into my personal life and that's just the way I liked it. When our hour was up, we didn't know each other any more. That is this business at it's best, here to help you realize you only live once.

So gentlemen, if you're lucky enough to have a lady who blows your mind like that, stay a loyal client, she is worth every penny of your hard-earned dough.
