Samantha, I haven't heard of too many problems in the cities lately, but my advice is always the same... I'd avoid the biggest, most popular suburb (Bloomington). Everyone likes to stay there because of its proximity to the airport and Mall of America. But, it has a huge LE department (probably 6th largest in state) that seems to take a somewhat "activist" stance in coaching hotel managers to look for and report providers. Some other suburbs like Mendota Heights or St. Louis Park are well located, have many upscale hotels, and tiny LE departments. And I don't think I've ever heard of any travelers having trouble in downtown Minneapolis.
what insightful information ... thank you. as it stands now, tessa is leaning towards the downtown area. i have told tessa what sweet responses i have gotten from minneapolis, she is excited about her visit and the opportunity to meet some wonderful new friends!! thanks again, samantha
