Uuuuhg..... Call me boring-but somehow this rainy day just slipped away from me once I discovered this
TV series (Mad Men) was put on Netflix.... I love it so much, I've binged half way thru the second season!!!

So I got to wondering.....what's your guilty pleasure TV show of the moment, for those of us who
still admit to watching TV....
I'm just gonna snuggle in & watch for any of your replies....

I have only seen a few episodes of Mad Men and only have so much time for guilty pleasures and I happy to say that one of them is this hobby!

I got hooked on The Blacklist this past year and DVR'd them all and have been going back and watching them again when I have time.  Watching them again I notice how certain things play into later episodes that I didn't catch the first time through.  For me I guess I like The Blacklist because every show plays into the rest of them and the whole storyline is something different from the typical TV show.

What is it about Mad Men that you like and that has you binge viewing?

Blacklist was great fun, Game of Thrones has more twists than Twizzlers, and Arrow was the other one. Thank goodness for TiVo.....I OD when I get a chance to watch any of these....

I'm not sure really, at first I just kept expecting something big to happen....
But then I got into seeing how life might have been during the mid to late sixties...it's like life on another planet,
So cool, yet some things so NOT cool (racism,& sexism) but odd...no car seats for kids, black & white TV, everyone always drinking & so much smoking... It's just fascinating. Like I said...call me boring.. ;)
Blacklist sounds cool, I'm going to have to check it out.

The first is on BBC America and is the story is about a woman who discovers she is one of an unknown number of clones and figuring out how all this came to be.  Most of the characters in the show are different clones and the actress does an excellent job of making them distinct.  The Americans is on FX and is set in Washington DC in the 80s.  It is about a pair of deep cover spies from the Soviet Union who live as ordinary Americans (they are travel agents, live in an ordinary house, and have 2 children born and raised in the US) except when they are engaged in spying.

A few years ago someone told me about "Sons of Anarchy" and the first episode I watched was so messed up that I had to go back to the first episode to find out how they got to that point. I just love that they bring in new characters just so they can kill them off.
I've been meaning to watch "Fargo" but haven't gotten around to it.

I just got finished watching it.. As much as I loved seeing Donna in the shower and hated Captain Janeway and her shaving sessions..

I want to like it, but it's like some fantasyland version of prision.  No grit, when they show the flashbacks it's always the system or some man that is behind why they're there..  Course there was always hope that Laura Prepon would have another shower or love scene. :P

House (Binged till I got thru all seasons)
Drop Dead Diva (a surprisingly excellent show)
Scandal (amazing show)
Grimm (detective meets fairytale)
Once Upon a Time (fairytale magic meets the real world)
Modern Family (some of the best written comedy I've ever seen)
Person of Interest

On Netflix I'm getting into:
Dexter
House of Cards

and I can't wait for the next season of Orange is the New Black

It looks like I'm a t.v. junkie, but really I just binge here and there on my DVR. I can go a week without watching anything then I notice I have 5 episodes of Modern Family to catch up on

This is actually the new norm.  I was surprised to see recent stats on the % of people that binge-watch a show a few hours at a time.  Viewers that watch a show live at its air-time have become the minority, and most now either watch later with a DVR or binge-watch.  I don't remember the numbers but I was surprised to see how high the binge-watch numbers were.

Binge-watching sounds like something government do-gooders will want to study and regulate.
