I stayed at a motel in Kansas recently where both TER and P411 were blocked sites on the motel wi-fi. Gotta love the bible belt. Think how easy for them if they could just block .XXX.
I reckon any hotel that offers pay per view adult movies will block the .XXX domain immediately so they can continue charging guests $18 per movie. Which would make it hard to search for any escort who chooses to use .XXX.
So long as it's voluntary I don't think it'll be used.

Wow! This is so on point. Never thought about it that way, but i totally see your point. With one fell swoop, businesses could instantly ban all sites with that extension. Mobile carriers could then charge extra for unblocked lines, people would get fired if their browsing history contained .xxx domains, the sheer amount of evil possibilities are endless.
other than forcing businesses to purchase all combinations of their names in this extension, I think this is pretty much useless piece of work.
