I prefer downtown near Target Center or Convention Center. It is very walkable with lots of nice restaurants and theater and 25 min. light rail ride to Mall Of America. Bloomington always has massive road construction and the traffic is always terrible. I avoid Bloomington.
I have never been to Minnesota and have had my eye on visiting for a while now. The thing is, I do not know much about the area and was hoping I could get some feedback. When I visit, I would visit Minneapolis, but I also want to try a suburb. Not a requirement, but I would like to be in a walkable area especially in Minneapolis as I will be using rideshare while there. So my questions are:
-Should I be downtown when visiting Minneapolis?
-Which suburb(s) would you recommend?Why?
Thank you in advance!
Bloomington is the most popular for touring providers. Close to airport, loaded with hotels, 10 miles to downtown but most men hate going downtown. Nothing to walk to but Bloomongton does have the Mall Of America which is huge.
Lots to see and do downtown tho. For myself I've wanted to see you for quite awhile and there's not much that could keep me away. Hope to see you soon.
Sounds like I need to pack an extra suitcase for the mall. I hope to see you too and can assure you that I'm even better on person! I am currently thinking of visiting this fall.

I hear crime can be an issue, but would you say its actually high or more so the amount of crime you would expect in a large city?
When I visit I always stay in Bloomington. If you do stay downtown a few things to consider would be if the hotel you are staying in requires a keycard to use the elevator and also if they charge for parking. Both can be a giant pain in the ass for the provider and the client, so I always steer clear of both when I decide where to stay. Best of luck on your tour!!

Very good advice and things to think about.
The parking is why I avoid seeing any providers in the downtown area. People might say "safety" is an issue. Not really when you visit during the day. But the parking issue and getting around when the construction is going on.
Totally understand the parking frustration downtown but I’ll offer a slightly different perspective, particularly for those trying to navigate the city discreetly.
While parking can be an added step (and yes, sometimes paid), downtown also offers a lot of built-in cover. There are dozens of completely normal reasons for someone to be in the area during the day or early evening, which can be helpful for discretion:
- “Meeting a friend for lunch or drinks”
- “Hitting a Twins or Wolves game” (or just saying you are)
- “Had an appointment downtown—dentist, eye doc, chiropractor, whatever”
- “Running errands or picking something up in North Loop”
- “Stopped by to check out a brewery, new bar, or restaurant”
- “Had to swing through for work or drop something off at the bank/post office/etc.”
- “Met an old colleague for lunch” (aka—took a long lunch, no one’s business)
Downtown is one of the few places where you can say, “I had to head into the city for a bit”—and nobody really questions it. Is parking perfect? No. But sometimes the trade-off is worth it when you want a nice space, solid vibes, and zero interruptions.
That's a good point. My main concern with the Bloomington area actually was how is the general traffic after normal business hours. I rarely have late night appointments (starting after 10pm), but I wasn't sure if the area is one of those that becomes pretty dead after say 6-7pm.
Bloomington is a suburb so there is no real “people walking about’’ even when busy — This is car culture. Downtown the North Loop and East Downtown neighborhoods tend to be vibrant most evenings with a good mix of restaurants and residential and hotels. The Finance District (Downtown West) will be pretty devoid of people after 5 unless there’s a game at Target Field or Center.
Thank you for your insight!
Thank you so much Scarlett! I was more concerned with parking as I wasn't sure how efficient the public transportation is there. In Atlanta, we avoid it like the plague unless you're traveling directly to and from the airport or a sporting event. Even then it still usually isn't the first choice for transportation.
I have no problem with downtown, but many I know do. I would recommend hotels west of 35W too.

Bloomington vice seems to be targeting low hanging fruit. They just want easy "busts" that they can parade around via media releases. Seems like they are looking at AMP and pop-up brothel groups. I would say any indie provider and experienced client would be just fine in Bloomington as long as both parties adhere to discretion and safety protocals.
You are correct. Unless the gal you are trying to see is staying at a no tell motel or a low end chain that already has a pretty flourishing police presence the average mid or higher end hotel chain is only going to want the police to show up if there is a lot of disturbances or multiple complaints from other guests. Low key is the key. Don't look or act like a trashy hooker or client and you should be golden.
