Hi, all. I need some advice. I was texting a MSP provider a few days ago, and we got into a price negotiation. She replied to my offer with, "No, and this is law enforcement." I tried calling her back and she didn't answer. Then I got a text from her a half hour later asking if we were still on for our appointment. I didn't respond. Then she called me from an icloud account and asked if I was coming. I said no. I reminded her of what she said in the text, and she was confused, as if she had trouble remembering what she was saying to whom. A couple of days later (yesterday), I got a burner phone and called her back (because I want to know if this is actually a sting). I sought to book an appointment with her via text. She asked me to Facetime. I said no. She asked me to send her a picture. I said no. I asked about upgrades. She wouldn't text me back. Then I got a call from her. She said she didn't want to discuss upgrades via text. She told me over the phone about her upgrade rate. I finally did book an appointment and she sent me her address. Then, at that point, I texted her and told her that I was a cop. I was lying to see what she'd say. She was totally cool and then said she was a cop, too. I called her and she answered. Her English isn't great, but she insisted she was a cop. I asked if I was in trouble based on her text from the other day (when she said, "This is law enforcement"). She couldn't quite remember it, but she said I wasn't in trouble. An hour later, she texted me and asked me if I was a cop. The end.
Ok, if you've read this far, thank you. Anyone have any guess as to what's going on? I called a couple lawyers. One said I have nothing to worry about because a cop would never declare such things over text. He said police would wait for me to actually show up to an appointment and then arrest me there. Another lawyer, though, said that it's possible this is a different kind of sting and that they are going to send me a citation in the mail. He said that's unlikely, but possible. Thoughts? If it would be helpful, i could send the provider's name. Unfortunately, it's a new provider and she doesn't have any reviews on here. Thanks.

Agree, and also they will be very explicit via text regarding the activities the two of you plan on doing. Another thing my friend told me (she's a cop) is that they would most likely provide the space. So if a man is providing the location, either his house or a hotel, most likely they're going to be safe. She said it's not worth risking the safety to send one of their own behind a closed door when they don't know what's on the other side for something as petty as a solicitation ticket. Nor do they have the time or resources to travel to each individual location one by one to set up an one person when they've got underground and underage trafficking to tackle.
If her English is not good, it was probably her accusing you of being LE, rather than saying she was. Why in hell would LE announce they are LE. It makes absolutely no sense.
If you already went to a lawyer (Hopefully it was a criminal lawyer), there is really nothing else the people on this board could help you with. I get it, you got rattled but if you step back and read what you wrote from a third persons point of view you would see how silly your story sounds.
Even if she really is a cop, so what? What laws other than solicitation did you break? Even if they can convict you (which is a far fetched) is a misdemeanor at worst. There is absolutely no way law enforcement is wasting their time on a misdemeanor.
I’m not a lawyer but I got lawyer friends. If you somehow end up in front of law enforcement, Shut The Fuck Up and only provide them your identification if detained and revoke your right to remain SILENT until you see your lawyer. I cannot stress this enough, this could be the difference between jail time/ life ruining experience to walking out of the police station with your lawyer. There literally is no pro benefits talking to law enforcement. They are not your friend, they don’t want the truth. They only want to get the DA to charge you and hand over any information to convict you, not clear you of wrong doing.
Remember: SHUT THE FUCK UP when law enforcement talks to you. Let your lawyer do the talking.

To tack on to what everyone has said, if you get a gut feeling that something isn't right, cut your losses and bail. Id rather go home alone and masturbate than go to jail and have bubba do it for me.
You bit off way too much. As soon as she said she was LE, whether true or not, you should have stopped. Calling her up afterwards and trying to make an appt COULD be incriminating, especially if you're talking about "upgrades."

There are lawyers who specialize in this and related areas and would be the best ones to ask. I have had the chance to talk to one such lawyer simply to learn more about legal issues as they affect hobbyists and providers. Based on that and of course keeping in mind that I am no lawyer, I don't think you are at risk but, as others have pointed out, if you are contacted by someone who says they are LE, don't talk to them and consult a lawyer. Beyond that, don't ever communicate in any way, shape, or form again with this provider.
You mentioned buying a burner phone. Were you using your regular phone before? If so, I strongly suggest you don't do that anymore and always use a burner that you pay for in cash and pay for the minutes you add to it in cash as well. Basically, you should not mix phones, emails, etc that you use for hobbying with what you use for the others parts of your life.
One of the things LE wants to do when trying to make a bust is link paying money for sex acts. You should keep that in mind when talking to providers about upgrades.
to stay with providers who are known entities. They have reviews, outlined fees and sometimes even a personality on here so you can have an idea what the person is like whom you are about to meet. There is hardly ever a need to discuss a single fucking thing other than a time and place.
As someone who knows first hand what is feels like to get into this situation, you want to avoid this at all costs. It's too bad that this board isn't a more welcoming "community" (again, hate that word) where this is more easily avoided by having many more participating female members.
See this is where I disagree with you. Nothing against you, but I do not want providers on this board. I don’t care what Jennie ‘rules for thee not for me’ Kennedy, or snarky karley has to say (and as insightful as Paige is, I just don’t care). In my opinion if you want to interact with providers online, you head over to Twitter. This site should be catered to us Johns. The reviews are for us to read and educate ourselves on which providers might fit our needs. This should be a place where guys can discuss with other guys about providers, without said provider jumping in the convo.
Honestly this site needs a complete overhaul on how it is being ran. It take HOURS (sometimes even days) to have your reply posted (How can this lead to conducive discussions?!), anyone and everyone can read most of the boards. Christ you don’t even need to log in to read full threads of discussion, see general details of any providers/reviews. It’s just so irresponsible.

Personally I appreciate getting the provider’s PoV on the TER forums. They’re half of the equation in this business. I find many posts by providers educational, in multiple respects. Sometimes posts from a provider will be a factor as to whether I see her, or not. They provide insights into providers that you can’t get from reviews. I expect many providers would say the same thing about the posts by us Johns.
I understand your viewpoint but in years past, this board has provided me with a lot of valuable information that has come from the participating females. Some directly, but much more indirectly once they had a level of comfort with who I was. A great deal of it was back channel but it began from the board. It's led to many great opportunities and significantly lowered my chances of wasted time and money. Perhaps for the guys in the metro market it's different but when I'm coming into town from 200 miles away and don't have the flexibility to change up my itinerary at the last moment. Especially if I'm traveling to another city.

I've been on here for about 18 years. In my view, it is a much more useful as well as entertaining place when there is good participation from providers. I also think that it has always catered to hobbyists. You can always send PMs if you don't providers to see what you post. As has been already mentioned, there is Reviewers Only board that is only for hobbyists with 10 or more reviews; you do have to request permission from TER to be allowed into it.
As long as I have been on TER, most of the discussion boards and the review general details have been open to the public. If you click on Contact Us at the bottom of the page, you will get a Contact Us page that defaults to the Cancel Membership option. That makes no sense to me but there will then be a Contact Us option at the top with various options including one for making suggestions.
As far as Twitter goes, I frankly have no interest in going there for anything.
