Just because they have locations in the burbs, don’t get fooled. Bloomington as huge funding towards trafficking with the airport and MOA. Yes, they don’t “traffic”, that I’m aware of, but the services they provide tend to get lumped into ss category. And you think they are safer when in fact one of their primary locations just recently had a double shooting with a murder during broad daylight. These locations are in areas that charge more on rent which in turn has tenants that keep an eye on their surroundings and will notify when things are out of control. Having 4-8 young gals in each suite with Booz and weed readily available sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Bloomington, Burnsville, SLP, GV, and other quiet spots in the safe suburbs are music to my ears. I am so pleased to see US Bank Apt LLC already make the move!

Doesn’t bother me a bit. Units are typically nicely set up. In buildings that are majority occupied by foreigners that keep to themselves and too scare to call the “dreaded” MPD. MPD has way too much on their hands to carry out any sting operations. I only schedule weekday appointments during daylight hours. I di carry a piece so if any thugs approached me they’d get a rude awakening. If more responsible people carried to combat the thugs this world would be a much safer place for us law abiding citizens.
Even with CCW you can't start shooting on suspicion. Meaning they're going to get the first blow ... which can take you out. Criminals definitely have the advantage even if you are armed because they get to draw first blood.
but allowing someone who you believe may be about to do you harm to "accidentally" see you are packing is a great way to diffuse a potentially life threatening situation before it ever starts.
Muggers and other low life criminals are typically cowards looking for easy targets, show them you are NOT an easy target and 99.99% of them will look elsewhere for someone to rob.
I didn't exactly grow up in the ghetto, but I most definitely grew up "ghetto-adjacent" and I know I can't be the only one who can just smell it when someone is up to no good. In the military they call it "situational awareness" I just call it being aware. I've been walking dark streets at night for long enough that it's a rare criminal that is going to catch me napping in a bad area.
I agree with Ga that most criminals are pussies. I helped a buddy of mine protect some of his properties during the riots last summer and no damage occurred because we were heavily armed. Neighboring properties were helpless and over run by thugs.
Showing you have a gun is very different from actually shooting it.
Minnesota is both an open and concealed carry state. Now the question is, which should you do? I don't like open carry because that makes me target number one. Some nut who wants to obtain a gun could easily strike quickly and without warning just in order to get the gun. Whether he uses on you or not is a second issue. I expect due to the time it takes to figure out how the gun operates, in that case, he is more likely to grab and dash.

But if he is already armed, then you're still target number one, a known threat. Whereas with concealed carry you are just one of the crowd.

Bloomington spends more $ on this than bigger cities
While I like the convenience of these location, you are correct. Going into the city is MUCH safer. When you are 1 in a dozen people you can easily blend in. But you are easily noticeable in one of these burbs parking lot. Like walking up a damn side staircase with a prop open door instead of going to the front. If these schedulers are smart they will move every 6-8 months. Longer leases will draw attention. Don’t think these complex’s are on the lookout for these types of situations? Think again, property manager attend annual training for these things.
All these guys talking about carrying their weapons while in the city are just fools. What the fuck are you gonna do, shoot someone in the city? Sure you may be justified if you are getting mugged. But hey what were you doing in the city? It’s no longer just your business, you just cap someone on the street. Police will start asking questions, you’ll invoke the right to remain silent, hire a lawyer. See the hassle? I’d much rather hand over the $200 cash on me because even if they fucking search me for more, everything is in my junker of a car anyhow. I’d just walk away pissed but no trouble with the police.

I conceal carry as well, almost everywhere I go. With that being said, when I go to an incall, I don't carry my phone or my wallet inside, let alone a firearm. I lock them all inside a lockbox in my vehicle console.
I totally get not taking the piece and not taking your wallet inside(especially if it's a new provider your seening) but why not phone. I understand not wanting to be robbed but if shit hits the fan I like to have an opportunity to use a phone to call for help if needed.
In the case of those I visit feel safer taking my wallet and phone with me then leaving them locked in my car.
Do not carry but my home is protected.
I am more worried I will accidently leave my phone or lose it there.
A few years ago, my brother lived in a burb of Mpls. He lived right next door to an incall apartment because he told me about it. His friend was the manager of the complex, and that guy knew about it. The entrance to that building was next to the incall place, and it was at ground level. So patrons would enter at ground level thru the patio door or buzzed in. A couple of side notes, if you walk by their door, it smelled like "coconut massage oil." LOL, I believe the owner did know and let it go because of no apartment issues.
US bank location was good pre-covid. When you could get in and out after or during work. After everything went remote, it didn't really work out and the suburbs have been nice change. Plus the MNE girls don't dissappoint. But a lot more eyes and cameras in these suburb locations.
