I've decided to cancel my membership.  Maybe if things are righted and MGC, Nora and all the others get a sincere apology we can forgive and move on.  
I've moved on anyway LOL.  Going to TBD was a habit, that's easily remedied.

I agree with Misty, who needs TBD when we have this board, I so I too cancel my membership and since I already have a vip membership here I am set because my favorite people are here anyway.

TBD knows my feelings on the matter. Apparently, I was NOT banned from his sites, but had some password problems that at least a few others have experienced. However, I will choose not to participate there until and unless two things happen:

(1) He makes a GENUINE, SINCERE, and PUBLIC apology.

(2) He offers some meaningful assistance, financial or otherwise, to the folks at MGC, whose difficult situation was made much worse through his actions.

People make mistakes. Even me  If TBD does these things, I will forgive and return to TBD / MN and other TBD forums. Otherwise, I am here for the duration, and will encourage others to participate here, and only here, for all their Minnesota discussions.

Yes, we all make mistakes (and at times I feel like the king of mistake makers!), but this was not just making a mistake.  What we've seen is TBD showing his lack of both character and maturity.  These are not things that are changed with apologies or money, they are only changed over long periods of time and unfortunately lack of character is very rarely changed regardless of time.

Just in the time since his non-apology apology we've seen what certainly appears to be his creating false posts and in one case asking a friend from Ohio to post to give everything some legitimacy.  I doubt that I would ever be able to trust the information on TBD again.  

How many other posts on TBD are false like the ones we've seen in the past few days?  

How many reviews are false?  

What information does he have about everyone and what would he do with it in anger?

I am not a religious man, but I do believe in forgiveness, even of the most venal acts. But true contrition on the part of the "sinner" must exist before forgiveness is granted.

If TBD could muster a real apology, and back it up with some meaningful help for the owners and Ladies of MGC, I would forgive and move on.

Mind you, I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen. He really does not seem to get it. My analogy is that it is as if we were all at a Party. TBD walks in, punches several of our friends in the mouth numerous times, then turns to the rest of us, puts his arm around our shoulders, and says: "Oops! Hey -let's go have a beer!"

He simply does not seem to grasp that this is more than a matter of hurt feelings, and that the most reasonable Moderator in the world is not going to get us to move on until TBD has apologized and tried to make amends. Maybe not even then, for some of us, but I am always willing to accept a REAL olive branch.

BTW, I was also enormously offended by Daddy Warbucks' post. I don't know what motivated him to do that, or even if he read the orignal threads. I used to respect him, based on his posts on the Ohio Board, but I no longer do.

Howdy everybody.  MixYou1 here.  I have been a paying member of TER for about 2 months.  Very cool board. I hope to chat with some of you soon in the chat area.
On the flip side,
I've only been a lurker and an occasional responder on TBD.  I never even became a paying member with them, and I see no reason to start.  Lot of BS going on over there.  I doubt I'll even go back to lurk.  The grass is much greener on THIS side of the fence.

I don't think many ladies in the Twin Cities know about the new board.  I know that the other one was pretty unfriendly to the ladies so most wouldn't bother.  If you tell someone about this site, hopefully they'll come join us.

I completely agree with you on the subject of forgiveness and contrition.  I'm sure I and many others, including even Erica and Mike, can find it within to forgive TBD.  BUT, forgiveness and trust do not necessarily go hand in hand.  

When you first meet someone you give them a certain level of trust, if they abuse that trust, as TBD has on a few occasions, you will no longer trust them until they have proven that their character has changed.

If someone cleans my house once a week and I find that they've stolen from me, I would most likely forgive them (assuming some level of contrition on their part) but I certainly wouldn't give them a key to my house again until I'm certain they won't steal from me again.

I would guess that at this point it will take a very long time (years) before I would trust TBD again.

I dropped my TBD membershio because I want fit in and be accepted by evryone else.

Now you know how to find the REAL "best of the best" LOL.  Not saying anyone else has those types of policies and/or if I care.  Remember Sammi and Jewel, just to mention a few.  

I just feel there's no need to have his opinion as the supreme opinion.  But, I've always loved the "lil dogs".  It's not the size of the tongue, it's the motion that counts *wink*

He hasn't posted anything recently, or about MN, over on the Ohio Board, but he has posted there for some years as an active and well-spoken hobbyist. Search on Daddy Warbucks.

I respected him based on what he said on that Board over the years. But his MN post is playing Goebbels to TBD's Hitler - either that, or he never read TBD's MN posts in the first place.

Either way, he apparently has some sort of ulterior motive, to suddenly appear on the MN Board and try to coax people back with his syrupy words, and I have lost whatever respect I once had for him.

TBD followed Mountaineer to the TN board and tried to discredit him there, too.  Wrong move in Tennessee!  Mountaineer is very respected on the TN board.  He (TBD) made a big deal on the TN board about what a nice person he was for letting Mountaineer (and others) on the Minnesota board have their say without deleting the posts.  He then turns around and deletes ALL posts on both boards.  Now, he lets others continue the battle that HE started knowing full well that anyone posting a negative comment about TBD will be made out to be the bad guy!  Shame on TBD and Daddy Warbucks.  If the MN Mod truly wants to be fair and objective, Warbucks' post will be deleted.

I read all the posts, even TBD's 'demanded acceptance' apology.  Sounded like a little boy making a feeble attempt to apologize when getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar;  Now I really didn't deserve getting caught and you really hurt my feelings by saying mean things about me, I'm a good person just like you are ... so I apologize IF?!?! I offended anyone ... now if you have the balls, you will apologize and make me feel better, too! -- then we all can be friends and get back to having fun again. Oh, by the way, if you don't accept my apology, that just shows what a bad person you really are!

It will take more than Daddy Warbucks' post to restore TBD's integrity for me.  

All should take note that TBD is no longer a place where you have the freedom to freely post information to help others.  False and malicious accusations need to be challenged and I salute all of you for having the courage to do so. Attacking and running respected hobbyists off the boards is not good. TBD needs to realize that 'his board' is there because of US.  Without hobbyists, there's no reviews, no need for advertising -- no TBD.  

Take good care of Mountaineer and let him get back to Tennessee once in a while!  And Misty, this 'ol hillbilly might just be giving you a call this summer.  I should be in your area mid July.

Seriously, thanks for the kind words. TBD gets away with a lot, I think, because his local shenanigans don't get publicized anywhere else. No doubt that's why he flushed my posts from several other Boards. And seriously, DO come up and see some of our sweet Ladies sometime. I know you guys are well stocked in TN, but you know what the Beach Boys said about "Northern Girls!"

TBD isn't going to apologize and even if he did, he already showed his true colors.  

I cancelled my paid membership a long time ago after one month and have completely abandoned the free board also.

I say good riddance to that jerk.

Mountaineer, it's good to see you -- but it's not THAT dang good, lol.  Now, getting a kiss from Misty and Nora sounds more like it!  Ahhh, the Beach Boys and those Northern girls' kisses -- bet they could sure keep this southern boy warm at night!  As Elvis would say -- I feel my temperature rising.  Dang -- heading for the cold shower as I hit the send, lol.
