DATY   I have heard and read a lot about this subject.  As Sir Laurence Olivier said in The Marathon Man   " is it safe?"     (for both sexes)   What is the bottom line?

it's been discussed there.  Bottom line, as I recall, is that it's not 100 percent safe.

Really, the only way to be completely safe is to be celibate and of course that's no fun.
