I often hear friends of mine commenting on women they see in regular life - they spout out something about how they must be a hooker based on her appearance. I always want to ask how they know all hookers look like that or say something defending the beautiful ladies because that is a not-so-nice thing to say about anyone based on appearance.....
Curious how many times you find yourself wishing you could defend the hobby but having to bite your tongue because of your career or family finding out your secrets? I find this happens to me quite often. I also bite my tongue accidentally quite often... although that was not what the title of this post was implyingI have only been doing this for a little while now, but recently I have started to read some, follow on twitter, etc. those that are for decriminalization. I am able to actually have an intelligent comment when a snide comment is made or even a conversation about it if the subject isn't immediately dropped right after I make my comment. I think it has only come up a few times so far. I have not said that I hobby, though, to another living soul outside the hobby and have no desire to whatsoever.
Are they then making snide comments to themselves about me behind my back? Maybe but my family and non-hobby friends know I am pretty open about legalizing certain drugs and such so this isn't exactly shocking to them. The fact that I rarely drink, and have never done drugs probably lends to then not even considering that I would hobby either, despite my view.

The more permissive the society comes the Right and Left will just change it to "Trafficking", "Slavery" or worse.

I would certainly agree that the chances of decriminalization around here are pretty much 0.
But in all seriousness ... How can they tell? What does a hooker look like? What are the tell tale signs?
Don't know what a Hooker looks like, but the Escorts I know are all pretty damn hottttt!!
if some reference to prostitution is made, say something along the lines of trafficking young or unwilling girls/women is disgusting and those pips ought to be dealt with severely, but adults choosing to do what they do is fine if they are not harming anyone. Then I jump off the soapbox.
..... especially when my wife talks about "hookers" and what despicable people they are. My tongue gets really bloody/swollen. If she only knew what I knew about you ladies..... ok, maybe it's better she doesn't know!
I can't stand people that feel a need to ridicule folks that love their sexuality and flaunt it! Especially any gal over 30 that looks smokin' hot! You know that takes dedication.
FOR SHAME! STFU you prudie prune ![]()
I look because I expect to see a sexy looking woman wearing revealing clothing and a hot body that if I search hard enough on here I may be able to locate and contact. If not at least I can file that image away in the spank bank. Probably not what they meant but certainly what I'm envisioning. Obviously as a repressed Midwestern Scandinavian I keep those thoughts to myself... well except for all of you.
Biting your tongue while painful doesn't compare to my annoying habit of stubbing my pinking toe on a piece of furniture as I walk by. I may have to go all bean bag chairs to cut down on the injuries.
A couple my employees were joking about guys that have to pay for it. I simply gave them a few good reasons why one would.
Those things your girlfriends/wife will not do...
Likelihood of a threesome in real life...
A true NSA fuck...
and then BITE THE TONGUE.
But my general view is that activities that don't harm others or don't involve damaging/destroying/stealing property should not be illegal and people know that. I have also made the occasional comment along the lines of I don't see why people think prostitution is a big deal.
But im lucky in the fact that my family, and my close friends know..
My sister is a sex positive advocate and works in Provider Support Services as well,,
My parents are proud of us and the work we do within the community ,,
I also advocate pretty openly on my facebook about decriminalization and legalization of sex work and how it is different than trafficking and slavery..
I have always been pretty open about doing Marketing, Business Development, PA, Screening and Verification for women who work in the sex industry..
And id have to say 85% of conversations about my professional life I mention that I work for Independent Quality Women who work in the Sex Industry,, and I find that it sparks a great conversation about the differences between fabulous women who chose to do this work and underage girls who are forced into it..
One of the keys things I always mention is
" This industry is going to happen no matter what the laws are and that there needs to be strong voices and good role models that advocate a safe/secure sex positive industry.. "
I have to say that ive been pretty lucky that every conversation Ive had where ive had the opportunity to discuss the industry has been met with open minds,, alot of great questions that are non-judgemental but more out of learning and curiosity and allowed me the opportunity to break stereotypes..
My photo production company is Provider friendly .. everyone who works for BadGrrl knows that we work with Provider clients and the team of photographers and MUAH that we have specifically geared to our Provider clients love it, the love meeting the ladies and working with them and learning more about that part of the industry..
We are also listed with Project 515 LGBT wedding directory, and the fetish community as well..
Whenever im out and in a group and hear comments made like that ,, I use it an an opportunity to spark a great conversation, plant some seeds, open some minds and abolish ignorance..
Im also a sex positive person and talk about the benefits of open relationships, exploring, bi sexuality,, etc... the cover photo on my FB page is a sweatshirt that says Sex Geek .. because i talk about it quite openly and dont treat sex as taboo or something that should be talked about in dark rooms or hushed whispers ,, and the less people treat sex as something as taboo , the more accepted this industry and other aspects of it will be I think

I agree with you and it's nice to see others so open to sexuality.... But it really doesn't come up that much in my civie life either.
Wow Cat,
Ur awesome!!! Good for you I'm so happy you have a life that allows for such openness.
Keep up the good work =)

prostitution is from a monologue by Johnny Carson.
Jane Goodall lived among chimpanzees for most of her adult life and documented the behaviors she observed. At one point she observed that female chimps would grant males sexual favors in exchange for food, bits of foliage and other items useful in a chimpanzee's life.
Johnny observed:
"how about that, it really is the oldest profession."
And the providers I see are quite lovely by any standards or in any setting.
One time my dad just blurted out a joke.....
How do you make a hormone?
Don't pay her.
I just said oh yeah that would make her moan. What I really wanted to say was "Dad you would be blacklisted from here to timbuktu!!"
LOL.
I've been out on dates with someone (who is not on these boards) who cannot seem to dress down...... and everyone in a 10 mile radius can't stop looking at her. I liked that during our first 'date' but didn't appreciate it thereafter. She always drew way too much attention.
I've seen another woman during dates/evenings and she could have blended in perfectly as my wife. That made me feel very comfortable ![]()
All these terms now adays such as hooker, escort, hoe and so fourth People are so stupid I end up putting my foot in my mouth since I'm a bit of a spit fire.
