And despite this article I predict that next year we we hear the same crap about prostitution and the Super Bowl coming out of the Phoenix area.

"They're coming to the Super Bowl not even to watch football. They're coming to the Super Bowl to have sex with women and/or men or children."

Just as how anti-gun advocates make their case by constantly evoking the word "children" in everything they publish, so to does the anti-sex-trafficking activist community...

Yet with the anti-gunners they had to modify their statistic-gathering a long time ago in order to have anything to talk about, which means they collect data on everyone injured with a gun age 20 or younger!   Which then includes all of the gang-shooting data in their numbers...

So to I suspect the child-traffic lobby includes data in an age range that is WELL beyond childhood, so that they have numbers and statistics to talk about as well...  because if they didn't, they wouldn't have any alarming statistics to create any hand-wringing to give any credence to their real agenda which is really controlling the sexual behavior of consenting-adults...

I'm sure this movement, like every other is staffed and fueled by the emotionally imbalanced over-weight mothers of 18-25 year olds that cannot let go of needing to brood over their offspring long into their adulthood and do so by investing their emotional-energies  into fictitious causes like the sex-trafficking of children movement...

The fear mongers like to conflate garden variety prostitution with human sex trafficking.  In their mind, a woman exercising free will to provide sex for money is the same thing as a woman forced into prostitution by a pimp or human trafficker.

Arrests for prostitution increase greatly during the Super Bowl.  They do as well for the Olympics and political party conventions.  (I wish more politicos were concerned with screwing providers versus screwing tax payers.)  Any event with large attendance increases the number of prostitution arrests.

Their motivation for this conflation to attract publicity and money to their causes and themselves.  An "activist" who wanted to get on the airwaves to decry prostitution arrests is going to get about as much airtime as a story about a dog chasing a car.

Fortunately, when cases actually get to court the legal implications are vastly different.

This is another example of Orwellian manipulation of language to achieve a particular policy or financial objective.  It is directly analogous to "inappropriate touching" being broader category of unwanted sexual contact including rape.

Each time a big event comes into a town, they attempt to clean up their town. What is the dirtiest thing they can think of? Sex. They clump all forms of sex into one category in order to make their statistics look good. I can only imagine they include voyeurism (waiting in line at the bathroom), public nudity (drunk victory dances), and scatching ones balls as sex trafficking.

It is all about image when the spot light is on their town, and you cannot keep public office if you are not putting on a good show for the nation to see.

number of wealthy tourists and hobby types are active there. Big difference between hobby and human
sex trafficking. Did you notice the BS that came out of capital last week, 20 percent of women in
college are raped??, yet UMD for example  had zero reported assaults over a couple of years. They must think we are stupid.

... that was 4 or 5 years ago, far enough behind us to share some non-specific anecdotes.

I heard that most of the delegates were only here for the sex :-)

...on the phone back home in Minnesooota. She said she's heard on news reports that there's 10s of thousands of prostitutes being shipped in so I should be extra careful about who I talk to. "Sure, Mom...I'll be extra careful. Umm...they didn't happen to mention what areas of town I should stay away from, did they?"  ;)

From what I saw, there was no discernible increase in BP/ TER/ P411 ads to suggest an influx of ladies and, in watching the arrest reports, there was no increase in prostitution related arrests. Law Enforcement are savvy enough to know that if they sound the alarm for this stuff that public coffers will open up and they'll get extra funds for a new mobile command center, new equipment and will be able to fatten the payrolls and add extra manpower getting OT to keep us safe from these naughty ladies.

Politicos only show up when there is someone to screw.

With the Super Bowl you have a lot of people of means coming together for the event.  Anyone with the money for Super Bowl Tickets would be able to afford the price of a upscale escort.

But this is also a one day event, so it would be a short time frame of activity.

I have watched the escort listing for some time, and the biggest increase in listing that I remember was when the PGA Championship was in town.

My experience then led me to this board.  Had a hard time finding someone to see so went with a new to me but well reviewed provider rip me off.  Not just that, but she warned me she had a "protector" in LE as she sped out the door.  At the time there was another almost as bad review on the site, and I had several people encourage me to submit a review.  I did, it was denied by TER, the other bad review was removed soon as well--and that provider is still actively working today.

But if this is as big a problem as they say, you would think they would have found a lot more trafficked people with an operation they planned for 6 months.
