It's wise to conceal and carry if you're permitted. People were walking around my neighborhood threatening to rob people in broad daylight just this morning. Travel in a group if you have to be out and about and make sure someone in that group is trained to avoid conflict and/ or understands the four pillars of gun safety/ home defense. Being robbed may not be life threatening, but being kidnapped or assaulted in a way that could result in death is another story. All you're required to do is say: "Stop. Get away." Then make a quick, critical decision based on the training you received to obtain that permit. I'm not joking. Thanks for the "heads-up" regarding kidnapping reports.

One unfortunate female victim said to be in her 30's was found murdered in the back seat of a car abandoned in the middle of the street in North Minneapolis on early Friday morning.
