means, to check and recheck all available resources, be it the reviews, back channeling with other hobbyists, using google to verify pictures, as real or fake, and google of phone numbers, to see how many ads, and where the ads are placed, to determine the level of accuracy of the ad poster.

No one would blame you for giving up, as there is a lot of time invested in doing homework, and screening the providers, to get to a point where the experience is worth the effort.

Many of us here, have had experiences, that are less desirable, like rip offs, phony up sales,
and run in with BSC providers, and pimps, and LE.

You really have to want to get to the truth, in order to have fun!
There are lazy people on both sides of the isle, lazy hobbyiests, who don't do their homework, and take risks, and get burned, because they did not use all of the resources available, to lessen the chance of running afoul of an experience that is less desirable.

Then there is the lazy providers, who's only motivation, is to "Get Your Cash" with the least amount of work invested.
Yep, the good ole mis represented ho, who uses false pictures, to catch your eye, the charm in the phone contact, to further pull you into the illusion, and then the stark reality, when she shows up at your door, or you show up at her incall location. That she is Not the Woman in the Pictures.
She is Not as pleasant nor charming as the voice you heard on the phone, but yet here you are with donation in hand, and time already invested, and you have a hard on. So you go ahead and do the deed, and then walk away, feeling as if you have been had!
That my fellow, is what the lazy ones are counting on, and you just handed them their reward, the donation, which motivated them to continue to run that game on others.
This is where TER comes into play, it allows you to sort out the professionals from the imposters.

I'm new and maybe because just that I don't know how to ask the right questions.  So, far I would say that 90% of the time the person that you meet is NOT what is described at all.  Especially the age and physique, ARRGGGGGGGGG.  Usually only the hair, eyes and height are correct most of the time.

I don't care that the pictures is NOT you but when I asked for you to describe yourself before I spend my hard earn $$$ and time, just be honest.  Is is really that hard to do???????

Most of the one's that I've been to are in the Bloomington area, PP is pretty are place to go to(I've turned away 4 times there)

When you say things here that seem to be directed towards providers it makes me wonder who you think is reading this. Are the providers you are talking about (or to) regular participants on this board? I really don't want your answer or who they are but I will assume the answer is no. I try not to bad talk bp too much but many (not all) are dishonest and just as it was pointed out in a response already, those girls are banking (literally) on the bait and switch and you thinking with the wrong head so when you are disappointed it doesn't matter to them ... If you are going only to BP I can see why you are getting the results you are. Like Leann said check the MN top 50 or so. also look back to find the shill threads for the last few weeks, lots of great ladies loudly praised by their admirers.

Perfect Scenario:  It would be cool if you would list the providers that you have met. Thus, other hobbyists would benefit from your experiences.

Walk Tall:  I think that every hobbyist has had more than one experience similar to your own misery. If you feel that you have been burned, the most honorable path to take as a hobbyist is to simply not see that provider in the future.

Vent:  I have found value in sharing my hobby frustrations via back-channel communications or friendships with other hobbyists. Such communications allow you to express your feelings without formally committing a devastating account via a review.

Justice Prevails:  I met a terrible provider earlier this year that made me question all of my instincts and research capabilities. However, life is not always perfect for illegitimate providers. Her visual deceptions and poor performance mandated a move from one market to a new location.

Risk and Reward:  The stakes are incredibly high in the hobby. Literally, there is nothing safe about the hobby. If a hobbyist has a few poor encounters in terms of looks and/or performance, please note that there are far worse outcomes from a meeting.

Tuition Paid:  If a hobbyist has a bad encounter, then he should simply count it as part of his educational expenses in this past-time.

Your looking at the hobby all wrong.

First off it seems like you are looking for a perfect match. Just realize that providers are advertising themselves. Many here on the TER are truthful, or we are going to call them out on it. BUT REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU READ A REVIEW THAT MANY OF THE WORDS USED ARE TYPED BY OUR SECOND HEAD.  Enjoy the variety of life.  

Second (MOST IMPORTANT THING), change what you are looking for. The perfect age, body type, and hair color is not going to give you the best orgasm you have ever had. Much of a good time comes from your personal cognitive state not how they behave or look.  I have been greatly suprised by the providers that I have meet that would not be the type of girl that I would pick up the bar.  Since joining the hobby what I get off on has changed. It will for you as well.

Third and final thing. Relax!

If you are perusing BP, forget it. If you want true pics check the agencies. They use real pics and  
that includes some of the lesser known agencies. I have seen these girls and their pics are real.
Also, P411 and Eros pics tend to be real photos of the providers with a few exceptions. Stick with good  
reviewers as well and you can't go wrong.

Why don't you say what you are looking for. Age range, looks, menu, price. Then you might get some specific advice.

I started with a smaller agency and many of the other girls came there from other agencies ... They never used real pics or real ages (some not even close) for example the pics they used for me were a pornstar's pictures and I was advertised as 25 ... Actually we all were even if we were 19 or 35. The other smaller agencies used fake pics too ... Often the same pics used for 20 or more girls over several years. The pics used for the girl I was suppose to represent are still being used by the agency today. I'm glad you got a couple of providers who looked like the pics but I can promise you 3 of the smaller agencies that have been in mpls for the last 10+ years do not use real pics and I can still point out a ton of them. Again I am referring to the smaller agencies not the bigger well know ones.  

My advice, from one semi novice to another, don't deviate from TER.  In most cases it is really accurate, read and recognize trends and draw your conclusions from this research.  If you set your expectations based on typical experiences by others you will love this hobby.

For me, expectations have only been met or exceeded from well reviewed (qty) and well scored providers.  For those experiences that fell short of my expectations I later realize their scores and reviews reflect the same.

For every 2x low cost provider you encounter that fails to meet your expectations you can have the time of your life with some of the top providers, as rated and reviewed on TER.  Start with the Minnesota TOP 10 filter... I can think of at least 5 that frequent the boards that are also on this list that will set your perceptions right  

Long story short - the community is something you can hang your hat on and use to the fullest.

I could not agree more. I have had nothing but great experiences with the wonderful ladies I have found on TER. Just do your research and you won't be disappointed.

Here are some things I have learned or picked up over the years that may help you

1.  Check out the newbie board; lots of good info there
2.  Get the VIP membership so you can see the review details and have access to the PM system
3.  Spend some time learning how to use the search functions for both reviews and the discussion board so you can identify ladies you would be interested in seeing based on the criteria that matter most to you (ex: looks, menu, rates, etc.)
4.  Figure out what kind of verification the ladies you would like to see require and how you can meet those requirements.  Some ladies are very particular.  Others are more flexible.  It's OK to contact them about it if you are not sure; just remember to be discreet.  Any  explicit questions will likely get you disconnect or otherwise ignored.
5.  Some ladies advertise here or on other sites that they are newbie friendly; keep an eye out for that.
6.  Consider joining a site such as P411 that pre-screens potential clients.  Some escorts will accept membership in such sites as satisfactory verification.
7.  If you are still puzzled by something after having done research, please feel free to ask questions.  I think for the most part we are willing to help out so long as we think you are not just freeloading on what others have learned.
8.  Develop a bit of a thick skin; some people are going to be jerks regardless.
9.  If an ad or offer looks TGTBT, it's probably TGTBT.
10. If you find yourself in any situation that doesn't feel quite right, trust your instincts and walk away.
11. As a newcomer, stick with well-reviewed ladies.  It's harder when you are inexperienced to figure out who the legit providers are from the fakes and scammers when they don't have reviews.
12.  Google is very useful.  Searching on a phone number or other info from an ad in Google can sometimes save you a lot of grief. Google Image Search is another very useful tool to search for other places where pictures in an ad are being used.
13. To help uncover ads that are using someone else pics Google Image Search and Tineye are useful tools.  Much better to find out ahead of time that the girl you are thinking of calling is using the pics from some porn star or model or that the pics have been used in ads from one side of the country to the other.
14.  Get an anonymous hobby email that is not through your work, school, or anything connected to your real life (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc.) and use it for all your hobby email activity and for nothing else.  Be sure you include nothing that identifies who you really are when you create it.
15.  Get a prepaid phone that you use for nothing else other than hobby phone calls and pay cash for it and whatever refill minutes you buy.

Bottom line is there are some wonderful ladies out there with whom you can have a great time but you need to invest the time and effort into making those experiences happen.  If you quit now, you will miss out on all those experiences.
