I've been thinking about the MDL controversy.  I talked to a provider about it.  She said the issue is that MDL tells providers he is MDL.  She said many people who post on this board use reviews and this board as a threat.  She did not say MDL does this.  She did not give details about anyone.  We spoke in general.  

This all points to the need to keep our secret identities secret.  In many cases we are dealing with immature young ladies.  Everytime we expose our identities, we are taking a risk.  Also, I've found the way to great service to be respect, compliments, and the right atmosphere.  Sure I've been ripped off (hello Angel!)but I've had great experiences that I think (hope) were mutually enjoyable.

I have known MDL for a while and to even assume that he would use his reviews for personal gain is speaking out of line...And for you to even say that hiding behind an alias!!! Standup for yourself when making comments like that on this board!!

Nonetheless, she knew all about MDL.  She didn't tell me anything, just that she knew who he was and that he liked to tell providers who he is.  She didn't confirm that he wears women's clothes.  She did not give me specifics on anybody.

There are two seperate threads on this. MDL started the controversy.  Then a provider claimed he likes to wear women's clothes.  

All I'm saying is if you want something kept secret, be careful with the info.

You defend a guy who is an obvious shill for an agency.  Don't you want honest reports?  You defend MDL when he stupidly tells providers who he is.  Yet if a provider does their best even when they are having a bad day, you are nitpicking their performance.  TwinCitiesGuy gets away with ripping Adriana Mynx continually for stuff that happened ten years ago.  If a girl changes their name, this crowd is all over it.  Dwiddle rips on Angel for upselling.  Where's the review?  You all rip on Heide/Shannon/Erica without knowing or caring that her personal life has been sheer hell.  You have no problem posting our addresses.  I love the posts that say "we met at blank blank hotel in Plymouth".  Hello LE!  If we ask too many questions, we're nosy, if we don't talk enough, we're mechanical.  You eat Chinese for lunch, don't take a mint, and want full GFE.  We get 40 calls a day, most of them from weirdos who just want to hear an escorts voice.  You want us when you want us.  Nevermind that I have to make arrangements to pick my kid up from daycare.  If I'm late, its written about.  In spite of all this I do my best to be sexy and make you feel like you are my most special client.  Each client is a priviledge that I strive to keep.  I get many repeats.  

Big deal.  MDL likes to wear women's clothes.  There are far weirder fetishes.  

90% of the guys are great.  There are some idiots.  Comes with the territory.  

You missed the point.  If you don't want information spilled, don't give it.  Providers don't like it when you use reviews and postings as a threat.

MDL can defend himself, and will, if he chooses . . . are some of you judgmental in the way someone dresses or looks?? If someone dresses a certain way or not?? Bigotry, blindly in favor of your own opinions. Well, this is what this board is coming to, if you won't stop. Also why hasn't the board given M***Y a chance to defend herself. Let them give her the same chance they give MDL to defend himself. See the additional post about the BDG Iowa board. She is good at defending herself and would of stood up for MDL on this board even!!! You know that MDL . . . this board isn't the same without her!

You make some good points.  I too am amazed when I read where a client posts far too specific information about where they saw a provider.  I do not understand why some guys do not practice decent hygiene before going to see a lady; we certainly expect it from them so they have every right to expect it from us.  And continuing to beat up on someone for something that happened years ago makes no sense unless, of course, that person is still behaving the same way today.

However, some of what you say makes no sense to me.  Why should we not bash upselling?  If a lady advertises as an escort then I expect the price on her ad or what she quotes me to be the price to be an escort.  I do not at all appreciate it when I make the arrangements on my part to see a lady and when I get there find out the price was just to get in the door and if I want the full package it's going to be X dollars more.  That's being deceptive.  Thankfully most ladies don't do this and TER has helped me avoid most of those who do.

Name changes are another sore spot because they are mostly seen happening with ladies whose reviews are generally poor.  Why should we not be concerned it's an attempt to dupe us into thinking the lady is someone new and let the rest of us here know?  If Heidi/Shannon/etc., etc., etc. has had a hard life that it a trajedy.  It does not make it acceptable for her to repeatedly providce a poor level of service and not get called on it.  Perhaps if she committed to being a quality provider, it would help her improve the overall quality of her life.

I haven't hobbied much recently due to a move away from the TC, so I don't post often anymore, but this thread brings up some points that I I have thought about alot over the years. I agree with Vorlon on everything he said. When a provider upsells, the hobbiest has every right to complain. I also agree on the name change thing. Most often it seems that name changes occur to "run away" from bad reviews. My biggest concern though is the amount of personal or maybe non-essential info that gets shared here and in the reviews. There was a recent review of a provider in which the hobbiest mentioned that a provider had put on some weight recently and that she was pregnant. Maybe I am wrong, but I just don't believe this is the type of info that needs to be put in a review. If a provider wished to share that kind of personal info, that's fine but it would be her place to post it not someone who has seen her. I have also had the opportunity to see providers who were willing to provide services that they don't advertise on their websites. In a case like this, I don't mention it in my review, because I think that it could put a provider in an uncomfortable position if someone else should ask about it. Example: I see a provider and she provides anal, although it is not mentioned anywhere on her website. I post in my review that this provider is the greatest anal provider that I have ever seen. Some guy reads my review and decides to see her because of this but she tells him anal isn't on the menu, to which he replys, "Well I read a review on TER that says you do", leaving her in an uncomfortable or even dangerous position. My point is that hobbiests and providers both need to be very careful about what info we share on each other. Providers should never divulge personal info on hobbiests on the boards and hobbiests need to be very careful about what type of info we share during reviews.

I don't think their the same person because dwdiddle has always posted things from the hobbiest POV.  Mnproviderx knows that Thunderoad has an 8 inch salami.  That would be weird.

I have had providers tell me that some of you tell them who they are.  In fact, one provider told me that Ben Dover and Twin Cities Guy are two of the classiest hobbiests they have ever met.  They said nothing beyond that.  

As for aliases, I could just as easily accomplish the same thing by setting up multiple accounts on TER.  For all I know, Fine-Day and MDL are the same person.

There was no damage done to MDL.  Just remember to be careful in what you tell people.

Wouldnt you want to know before hand info on a provider being pregnant.Hopefully she telling her clients before hand.I agree theirs to much info in most reviews.

I agree.  The upsell hustle is the single biggest irritant to me.

As far as someone's personal life, I sympathize, but at the end of the day I want the best performance for my dollar.  It doesn't matter if its a provider or a suit salesman.  If things are bad, get help.  There are numerous churches and agencies that love to help providers.  Look them up and go see them.  

I can also see how it would irritate you to have fat slobs with tiny dicks nitpick your appearance.  And for everyone's sake, chew gum after Chinese food.  I hate that at the office, let alone in the sack.

Geesh, I wouldn't want it to get out that he's a classy guy.  It would ruin his rep on the board.

I'm like Vikingexpress.  Tell me how MDL was harmed by this thread and I'll show some sympathy.  Otherwise, methinks you and Fine-Day protest too much.

I would be hard pressed to so vehemently vouch for the character of someone I only know through a discussion board.

mnproviderx doesn't like MDL and she doesn't like people bashing Angel.  Jenny was the provider who accused MDL of wearing women's clothes.  On her website Jenny advertises that Angel is her best friend.  They do 2 girls together and Angel takes the appointments Jenny can't.  

C'mon Fine Day a little research can go a long way.  Do a little before you start making accusations.

IMO MDL's problem is his ego is huge.  He sees himself as the great leader of hobbyists in TC.  I don't think he has bad motives but some of what he does may be bad for the hobby.

I commonly "share with the class" when I find out a little bit of this or that - not because I think others are stupid and can't figure out rather basic things themselves, but as a helpful FYI so others don't have to do the work! - if you took the time to post, why not tell us what you found -- Or was your REAL motive behind posting to inderectly tell me "I'm dumb and your smart?

I search the board going back 180 days on both
aliases.  The providerx alias is very recent and
only has a few posts.  The other alias goes back
further.  From that, I deduced that the poster
is a hobbier first and a provider imposter
second.  Just an educated guess though.

This was very very simple to find out.  Learn to
use the search feature grasshopper.

Actually I'm VERY astute with the searches - that is how I have used TER since finding it sometime in late 2001 - more as a glorified search engine - mainly for insider provider info, but also as a "who knows what" referencing point, From then until "5/23/2005 10:05:11 AM"   I just payed for my VIP for all those years and did not post or review - before I started earning my keep around here, But I am a self-admitting sloth! -- That's Why I like "CowGirlS" so much - Sometimes I just like to lay there and have the hard work done for me!
