I like a confirmation, my personal life keeps me busy at rimes & I wouldn't want to accidentally forget someone.

I think "smear" is a strong word for reporting the fact of a NCNS and trying to find out the cause because the provider herself has not responded to multiple attempts at contact over 2 days.

The fact of the NCNS won't change based on the cause.  But I'd like to find out the cause, mainly to know that GiGi is OK, and if I find out I'll report what she tells me.  Then I move on.

I did reach out to GiGi to confirm out appointment the afternoon before, and she confirmed.  The appointment itself was early in the morning the next day.  Unless a provider requests confirmation before an early morning appointment (and GiGi has never asked for that nor needed it with me), I don't.

Here's a question for the providers out there:  how many times do you expect a multi-repeat client who has always arrived on time to confirm an appointment with you?  And do you expect same-day confirmation, if you don't request it and the client has confirmed within 24 hours?

Has anyone seen or heard from Gigi in the past couple of days? She was a NCNS for my appointment with her yesterday morning, and she's not responded to my texts/calls/email. I know that NCNS is not new for Gigi, and I've had some difficulty with her on a few previous appointments, but she's always contacted me to apologize and reschedule.  Also she confirmed the appointment less than 24 hours before, so her silence has me worried.  I also sent a message to the provider who shares studio space with GiGi to ask if she's seen/heard from GiGi recently--no response there yet.

Her father has been ill, so it might have taken a sudden turn for the worse....

Thanks, that could explain it.  I can empathize with that kind of thing having been in that situation with both parents.  But a quick text or email to cancel the appointment would have been greatly appreciated.  I don't know if providers realize that many/most of their clients care about them as people and can wonder and worry when something like this happens.  There's a lot of sick/bad people out there... I've even discussed the risks of the profession with GiGi before.

Depending on the emergency, the layer of people who are contacted include family and possibly best friends. It does not get down to the date level. I know, I've been there and explained later.

With all due respect, and certainly hoping for the best, NCNS is a trademark of hers. After a number (bigger than 3) of NCNS, I have moved on....although she is a fab provider. My last time was when she actually did call to cancel, because of a family emergency, which turned out to be a double booking. I found out the hard way..... I do wish her nothing but the best, because she was THAT good, but I have moved on. To all you out there,YMMV, and good luck.

Thanks!  This is actually very good news to me.  What happened could just be normal behavior.

So you care about Gigi as a person but instead of waiting to find out the circumstances first, you just blurt out the fact about the NCNS?

Emergencies happen.  Her business partner may not be reachable on weekends.  Could be the case, don't you think?

Everyone I've seen has comfirmed same day.  Perhaps that is the reason I don't entirely appreciate the frustration of your situation.  It doesn't happen to me.

I would still at least wait until I received an unsatisfactory excuse before I announced a NCNS on someone that I supposedly care about as a person...

NCNS means "no call, no show".  That is exactly what happened.

I don't see anything disparaging about stating the facts.  The NCNS with no contact over a day after the booking is why I posted my query here, to see if I could find out whether GiGi is OK.  Maybe it's something simple as someone else posted, a double booking.  I'd be glad if it were something like that.  There's a lot worse possibilities.

I realize the business partner may not be reachable on weekends, although in her ads she states she works most Saturdays.  Maybe not this weekend however.  And maybe not checking emails.  I thought it was worth a try.

You should feel fortunate that this has never happened to you.  It's the only time it's happened to me.  If it ever does happen to you, maybe you'll be able to appreciate the frustration of the situation.

Once I receive some answer to the NCNS, if I ever do, I will post it here.

My point is simply that it sounds like you've struck up a friendship of some sort (you stated you care).  Before I smear a person or a business, I'd certainly want to hear their side first.  Next, you are correct.  I would be very unhappy to to experience a NCNS.  If you know this is a possibility (and the PMs I am receiving indicate that yes, it is), why not confirm with her same day?  I hope it never happens to you again and I hope I'm never having to walk in your shoes on this one...

I think it is common courtesy to do one's best to contact the client if an appointment must be cancelled.  I do the same in my business dealings.

I for one don't like making room in the schedule, driving for 20-30 minutes (typical from my location), and possibly paying for parking, to be stood up.

This particular provider is known for NCNS.  Guess that is part of the "gig" (pun intended) but it has deterred this customer (me) from making an appointment.

I didn't see any kind of smear here.  Also, there were repeated attempts made to contact the provider before posting anything here, and this is not the first time this board has heard of this kind of thing from this provider.

She is a chronic NCNS'er, but guys keep going back for more and then question why they got shafted. She'll keep doing it too.

Well, one NCNS with no follow up is enough for me.  I had read of this behavior before, awhile ago, but had no idea until now how common it is for GiGi.  Lesson learned.

How much you wanna bet though there'll be several glowing reviews for GiGi in October?

I have heard from a very good source that GiGi... was just being GiGi.  Have not heard from GiGi yet but I don't expect that will happen.
