A West Virginia escort may have unknowingly stopped a serial killer when she shot and killed the man who attacked her. CNN's Boris Sanchez reports.

Good shootin' lady! I have often wondered why business post "No guns allowed" signs. They should post the opposite- "Guns encouraged". Lowlifes would go else where. It certainly is no fun to try to rob/murder someone and end up like this POS.

I want to learn to shoot, get a conceal and carry, and have NO personal guns, either.  It just seems like a bad idea.  However, if I get someone who does, I'd like to be able to defend myself.  Naturally, I'd offer to, ahem, take care of him first (shuts off the brain circuits and makes them vulnerable)... Heh

Is proven to be far more helpful in close quarters than a side arm in a holster or purse.

Carried loaded and safety off is most likely to harm carrier before it is ever used in a possible self defense situation.

An attacker can cover 10-18 feet to the victim before a firearm can be raised and shot accurately!

I am glad the lady got her man, but average self defense skills are better than expert marks person in close quarters.

A side arm is most useful in an observation of a crime situation NOT a direct victim situation.

My personal experience from instructing both.

MHO  FWIW

Really surprises me that more providers don't carry some kind of defensive measure.

...and I'm sure there's more that do that I'm not aware of. Also, I would think most would carry pepper spray or a fog horn alarm if nothing else. I believe that's one of the reasons why most women always keep their shoulder bags close at hand; not just for easy access to covers, lube and toys.

I suspect very many providers carry something.  Here's hoping they never have a reason to use it.

TER Whitelist and a P411 Okay (or Date-check) mean more than a reference, but a good reference from a well reviewed independent provider that can provide more detail is also stellar.

The scariest are the sociopaths and psychopaths that know how to play the long game.  No filtering that.

Keep up on their okays and whitelist when appropriate, what I wanna know- do most of you gals (here in MN) just look at the okay or do you also contact a few of them to get additional info, and would it be agreed that no guys
As much as you may think, or want us to -we really don't talk about the specific actions....so no, not comparing notes lol ;)

a spy from the Cold War days. CIA? KGB? East Germany? Brings back good memories. At least then we knew who our enemies were unlike now.

I am first gen.   Grew up with those you speak of and have friends current that are.  Yup.  They rub off on me, and rub on me, too, some of them.  Ha!

But seriously, she was lucky and I am happy for her!  I am not sure if screening could stop this.  There is ALWAYS a first time and by then it is too late!  Now I suppose if he were a serial rapist working over escorts it would be prevented.  My guess is that he would always find ladies that don't screen.  Bar pickup, park, grocery store, you name it.  Those kinds of people find their targets regardless.  there tons of things people/ladies can do to protect themselves, but the criminals are getting smarter too!
