I would agree that asking for a reference in the aftermath of your date is uncomfortable. I always send a note the next morning, so that's a good time to ask.
Forgive my ignorance but the big thread on references got me thinking about something. What is the proper manner in which to handle getting and providing references? Is it OK if asked for one to provide the names of any lady I have seen? Or should I check with a lady I would like to use as a reference first? That might be a bit awkward in the aftermath of a session to ask her if I can use her as a reference for another provider.
