I have a hobby email and twitter account that was hacked a couple of months ago and is now sending spam I have changed passwords and even deactivated the accounts but they keep reactivating it. Has anyone had experience with this? And sorry to those who are getting spammed.

reactivating it then deleting all contacts all emails as well as all tweets and tweeters? Not sure if that would help but worth a try.

If you are changing your password and they are still able to access you accounts, it could possibly mean you have some sort malware/spyware on your system.

Changing passwords won't help you if the hackers/virus have changed your email settings.  Check your settings and delete any forwarding email addresses that you did not create and make sure your signature block is really yours.  Spyware/malware/viruses  create bugs and links in the settings!!

Change passwords on all accounts linked to your email.

Update and run antivirus/malware/spamware program

Until you fix that, even if you can close the hacked accounts and open new ones, they will just get hacked as well.

I didn't think to look at the email setting or contacts because I did not input anything in there. I think they input a bogus verification phone number. There were also some new twitter follows. I got new computers so I am sure it's not the virus thing luckily they only got my hobby accounts which have no info in them hehe. Thanks all.
