Calling a provider (AKA me, Alissa) from the office...

I do not mind where you call me from, as long as you let me know what number to expect before our meeting. This guy told me the number he called from was ok to call back if I don't hear back from him. Then when I called to give further details, It was a lady who answered, "Thank you for calling 'company name'....how may I direct your call?"

I then said, "I'm sorry must have the wrong number."

Should I expect this guy to make our appointment or not? Either way, should I just cut my losses and forget it?

Something tells me I already know the answer to this question....  :)

This guy needs to read "FAQ for Newbies".  Spend the $50 and get a disposable TRACFONE and register it under "Mickey Mouse".

I know if I give my work number out, I would totally expect for the provider to ask for me by name...otherwise I wouldn't have given it out. I'm sure there are others like me that have no problem with that as long as you are discrete about it...and for me it doesn't matter what name is given. I have no wife or GF or SO. Just my $.02

Having looked at your pics, and lusted over them, I can't imagine why someone would book an appt. with you and not follow through.  That said, I know there are a lot of flaky people in the world, so who knows?

I know 2 things:

1:  When I finally get around to booking a session with you, rest assured I'll make sure you can reach me, or that we both are comfortable that our time together is mutually confirmed.

2:  I wouldn't presume to tell you how to run your affairs, but you may want to ensure that the client doesn't have a reason to say that you're guilty of NCNS.

Did he know you were going to call him?  was it a pre-arranged time for the call?

Eiher way, it's a bummer that you're faced with this conundrum.  I hope it all turns out well in the end.  Especially since YOUR end looks so cute and bubbly!

If nothing else, your post has quite elegantly forestalled any claim of NCNS from this guy. When giving you a work number he certainly had the obligation to warn you and let you know how to ask for him. Failing that, your response was exactly what 99% of all hobbyists would desire.

If he does call again, though, I'd cut the guy some slack. With your photos and reviews, most guys are going to be pretty nervous before they meet you for the first time, so you need to be patient.

He's probably too new to know that a heads up would have been a good idea.  It could very well be that there would be no problem with you calling and asking for him at that number but of course you had no way of knowing.

You call his work number and the receptionist answers, "Hello, St Paul police department..."
