They are not done investigating MGC, especially those involved on the hobby side.  If you are involved in any way with that organization or any former ladies of MGC, please take heed.

This is not to slander, it's all very sad news and true.

A hobbyist's wife was visited at home yesterday with allegations of his link to MGC by LE.

Was the hobbyist who was visited one of the two people who were pulled over by LE during the incall stakeout?  Or was it someone who had not previously been involved?

Where (or from whom) did you hear this information?

It is not just the Agencies or the Independents problem when things go bad. IT is everyone's responsiblity to take a prudent course of action.  When the Gent decided to SPILL as did the two that were pulled over .. they gave up the ship...

Now what you all decide is IN YOUR BEST INTERESTS TO DO is your business.  But everyone should think before they just talk... they should consult with a lawyer.. They have just as much responsiblity in this play house as the girls.  

It is the testimony of the gents that brings the gals trouble.. If there was no testimony ... THINK... what would they have... If anyone is concerned.. they should consult a lawyer.. never just give information.  Remember it IS WHAT YOU SAY that will be used against you.  I know everyone knows these things but I keep seeing surprise on everyones face and emails when things go down.  Most of us are prepared... ARE YOU?

But aside from reviewing phone records, how could LE possibly even have ANY info about potential clients?  I know MGC doesn't have any records that would point to criminal actions.  Sure like to see a post of how they can target "clients".  Where do they even get the contact name from?

NO, this is someone that has no clue how they knew of him.  Speculation is all I have.  He thinks it's from an email.

The source/friend and fellow hobbyist sitting across the table as the call came in.  You'll probably never hear from either of them.  I'm guessing their hobby days are over for awhile.

There have been plenty of discussions of how to protect your privacy on previous posts here.  If you have seen or contacted anyone from MGC recently, I'd suggest you talk to a lawyer.

Of course, going to speak to the family-- it likely means that they don't have any real information, and are looking to "scare" folks into talking, or at least stopping their hobbying activities. If they actually had real information, they would be making arrests.
It's also pretty low. LE probably justifies it as "cleaning up" the city, but it's nothing more than bullying.
I believe that Nora posted a link to some good information on what to do should the BIB come a-knocking at your door.

I've been contacted again and he says he now is not certain if it was LE.  I'll keep you posted.

Look I for one am tired of the lies being spread about what has happenend, what is going to happen, and what will happen in the future.  What everyone needs to get a clue about is that the PROBABLE CAUSE REPORT is a public record!!!!  Stop spreading the rumors and go get a copy of it. Read it for yourself and calm down.  The facts are that even if anyone was arrested like a escort you would have to break the law and then you would be hit with a fine!  And I am aware of the scare tactics being used to further everyones paranoia.  That is why I suggest either getting the report or consult a lawyer.  I for one would like to know who the MNHOBBIST is who has this special inside info!! To the clients the best way to protect yourself is to know the TRUTH about the laws.  Stop the rumors.  And remember everyone on a public board may not have YOUR BEST INTEREST at heart.  EXP. I haven't seen anyone from MGC, so this is all a moot point to me so far. I'm not MNHobbyist either, but I think he accurately reported what he heard - someone's wife was visited, and he thought it was LE. Then maybe thought it wasn't. PI? Shakedown? Boys in Blue? I have no idea.

But when that kind of thing happens, I'd rather get an unnecessary warning and fret for a few hours than get an unexpected knock on the door.

Even if client record were not seized, they might well be able to get a court order for phone records, and if people called from home phone or traceable cellphone #, find them that way. Cops are known to pressure guys by threatening to show up asking embarassing questions at his house.

I think it would be wise at the very least for any client of ANY agency that had been raided to read up on Nora's link and act accordingly.

I would also like to see the Probable Cause Documents, but haven't the faintest idea of how to obtain them. Do I just walk into the Courthouse and ask for the MGC Raid file? I'm being a bit flip, I know, but for most of us there is no easy way to get these documents, and perhaps not enough time to wade through them, if they are like most legal documents I have encountered.

e-mail. If somebody e-mailed MGC after they were raided, it's possible that there was a BIB on the other end. I do not know if this is the case, it is just a possibility.
