I've gotten a number of posts that haven't been approved.  Generally, there are two problems with these posts:  (1)  They are provider ads that don't have a website that has the TER badge of banner attached.  (2) They are hobbyists or others starting a thread with an ad or shill for a provider.  Only the provider can run the ad.  We have no way of knowing whether Joe Hobbyist is in fact honoring the escort's wishes in posting an ad.  If you have something good to say about a provider, please do it in a review.

or even better, what is the purpose of this whole web site?
lets face it, this is not a legal hobby, and this sight and most of its contents survive on the technical loop-hole that none of what is said here is true, but rather some collective fantacy.
It seems mabe we have lost our direction on what we come here for. do we come here to talk about the weather? or tell dirty jokes? or are we here to share funny stories or make new friends? I look back across the post history and think some of you must have stumbled into the wrong forum! To further confuse me about this sites purpose,some of the things that are moderated seems to be hobby related, but by breaking the rules of conduct in some way.
Since we are all here in this collective fantacy, this is my dream:
     We would be allowed to see all the posts, mabe on the VIP side, but lets have a free exchange of ideas here!
     More talk about bad experencies, and when to watch our backs.
     A better LE watch system, I think we forget there are those out there who wish to punish us.
     How about being allowed to use coarse language, clearly we are adults here, and our hobby is not about baking cookies for church ladies, so what is the big deal! (you can go to the gameboy site and the kids can use the f-word in there, and flame the heck out of each other, but we can't here?!?
     I would rather hear it all and sort through it myself than be denied information.
     Also some flaming seems ok (like attacks on TCG) and whining seems ok, but if you want to blast someone you are prohibited.
     If you are thinking "Why don't you leave if you don't like it here?" I would if there was someplace to go, If you have other sights please send me the links, but I haven't been able find any, besides I have found alot of useful info here, I'm not saying I don't like this disscusion board or the MOD for that matter, I just think we have untapped potential here!

The purpose of the board is to exchange information about the hobby in a civilized and respectful manner.  

The fact that the hobby is unlawful under the laws of some countries or states, or that folks do not use their legal names on this board, doesn't excuse people from having respect for others or conducting themselves in a respectful and orderly way.  Moderation of the boards also prevents, or curbs, conduct that could be seriously damaging, such as disclosure of people's actual identities, phone numbers, employers or addresses.  This has happened on other boards and has happened, and been squelched, here.

The rules are intended to protect everyone.  If you're a provider, and a hobbyist posts an ad for you, it means you can't post your own ad for another week.  Maybe you wanted to run a special, and now you've been precluded from doing so -- that's why only providers (or an officially sanctioned booker) can run ads for themselves.

We're fortunate in the TC to have a fairly civilized board.  Take a look at NY -- the post from the Moderator, Thirsty, a few days ago -- to see what he had to do to clamp down.  

Finally, experience has taught that disturbances on the board are a big downer for everyone.  That's why it's moderated.

What you are stating is 100 percent correct. I was in NYC and active on that board...went to sh&*. (sorry). Moved to Boston where there is really none of it. Check out other boards dude...
But thirsty had to clamp down and rightfully so because it became the board of banter (badly), slaying, cat fights, postings of personal info by non moderated people (being unmoderated is a an honor, regarless of how silly some people think it is). When people start doing things and abusing them something must be done to step in and reel it in.
The purpose is "collective fantacy" not slaying and belittling people. I am not a side taker but I have been guilty of both sides, I am human. Yet, use this for information not your entire life. Be glad the MODS do this by agreement without compensation.
