Used to be, for a long time actually, the Minnesota Top 10 list was pretty equally distributed between providers and "hobbyists". Some of us misguided souls thought that made for a more interesting and fun forum. Well, I for one was obviously wrong about that. It's a LOT better now, isn't it, now that we don't have to deal with those providers and their point of view. Yeah, way better. Right? Riiiight??
Note that on the current Top 10 posters list for the Minnesota discussion, there's only one provider and she's way down the list. That Ms. Lake has a thick skin and great sense of humor, but I bet if we all work hard enough we can get her out of here too. Whaddya say, gang? Can we get that done for the new year?

Eerily creeped out being number 7 on your list. I'd like to think I provide insightful commentary in a fair and even manner without being aggressive or offensive. Or just Bwahaha humor!
I would like to point out in all honestly if I was a wealthier individual I would spend much less time posting here and more time hobbying!

...tenure here. OK, maybe there are officially only 2 board trolls and one annoying, yappy lil' lapdog who craves little pats on the head from his Masters but thoroughly enjoys pissing on the leg on any lady who dares to try to make this board a bit more interesting and inclusive. Vorlon and TwinCitiesGuy are specifically excluded from those to whom I'm referring as they are unquestionably the two most revered and enjoyable hobbyist posters on this board. 
This too, shall pass, I always tell myself when I consider how unfun this board has become. I won't put those posters on 'ignore' which I realize is an option I can use but I encourage others to simply ignore their posts and try hard not to reply to any thread started by them or to any of their baiting posts.
I agree with Dr. Bud, tho, most of the Top 10 and regular posters do contribute positively to this board.
Ever consider you could be deceiving yourself by failing to look at the OP's argument from other viewpoints? I have an inbox full of reviewers who solicit my opinion on providers to see, providers to avoid, and other hobby topics to keep themselves safe and in the know. There are also providers who do the same...ask me about things I know, people I know and the like. Boy, I must serve some positive function in this community, only nobody wants to publicly admit it.
They don't and won't come on the board and disagree with you and I wouldn't ask them too. It's the same dynamic in reverse. You and the OP and LC and various traveling providers try to criticize me, what I post, and anybody else who doesn't tow the line and drink the kool aid. I don't agree with some people's manipulation. I provide my counterpoint. So if you see this handle in the future ---------> Wongbater go ahead and pass the link by...don't click. Couldn't care less. You know you won't though.
If you are a provider and you feel I have directly forced you off the board because of my posts PM me and I will provide a sincere apology and explanation on what positive things I try to do on the board.
So if you and knots are the seers of the future of the board I'll pass the mike and you take over. Post something new for a change, something interesting, something other than this old tired tirade of white knighiness. If that ever happens maybe we will actually find ourselves agreeing. Oh the humanity!

One cannot exist without the other. A hobbyist needs a provider to be a hobbyist and a provider needs clients to be a provider. Both points of view are valuable in the wholeness that is this hobby. Closed mindedness does not make for a good client or a good provider. The more open your mind, the better the trip to the Greek Isles.
I've been very spare with my posts here for quite some time. I was told by several that I was too blunt, my reviews were too crude, and I was a troll. I felt that the board was actually being taken over by white knights and that I should probably take a break to see if there was some truth to what they said.
I do occasionally read posts, rarely post, and often write a response only to delete it thinking that some will take offense. Anyway, I was thinking that too few were speaking their mind so as to not offend and so the board was becoming less interesting and dead.
So when I read the OP, I wanted to give a different perspective from someone who hasn't been participating very often
On how the tighty white knighty BS impacts the cash paying client. Too blunt...never. Too crude...never. Troll? Well I guess the board mafia will determine that. 2late keep them balls close to you. Report back with a review. That's where the juice and the excitement lay. And once in a while a provider would jump in and say, "You're talking about me, and I'm real," and then we would all get really excited and see who could get in first.
Very little of that happens anymore, for a couple of reasons, I think. First, because TER has made all this more difficult with shill and mini-review and other rules. Second, because the hobbyists seem to be afraid of offending the providers. The second one is crazy. Surely the number one requirement for a successful provider has to be a secure ego.
So now the board is boring. I don't think it will ever revert, but if the board is to be even useful, then people need to be able to say what they mean and have the courage to do it. Doesn't mean you have to be a little shit or a troll. But sarcasm, a bit of teasing here and there, the occasional snide remark even? Well there has to be some sign of life, and I don't think anyone has died from a board post yet.

You should be able to say what you think and disagree with others. At the same time, you should be able to do so most of the time without launching personal attacks.
