I've been doing this job for almost a year, and the time for me to retire is approaching. It's been a rewarding and interesting experience, and I recommend it to any serious hobbyist. Hence, I'm asking for anyone who'd like to be my successor as moderator of this board (and possibly the Legal Corner) to PM me.

Here are a few basics:

You need to be able to check the board at least once a day, preferably twice. You can be a little less active on the weekends, but should try to keep to once a day.

As a moderator, you're not allowed to review providers, so if that's your cup of tea, you shouldn't apply.

The time commitment for this board and the legal corner is usually no more than a few minutes a day. Occasionally, you may have to commit more time (as in recent months).

Your powers as moderator are much more limited than you may think. Your job is limited to keeping an eye on the posts on the board you're responsible for and making sure they conform to TER requirements. Moderated members, including mostly providers seeking to post ads and new members, appear first on an approval board. You review them and approve them or don't. If members get out of line (i.e., don't follow the rules or get disruptive), you can put them on moderated status in order to review their posts before they go up. You don't review reviews or have any power over banning or un-banning people.

You get a free VIP membership and access to the Moderators' Board, which is where the mods bitch and moan and ask questions.

BTW, my retirement has nothing to do with the recent debacle here. It's strictly a personal and business decision; in any situation, there's a need after a while for new blood and new visions. I'm getting tired, and don't want to overstay my time.
