As a hobbyist I really appreciate 5, I usually ask on my final call for the layout of the hotel if I've never been. Elevator, where the check in desk is and if there is an alternate entrance and exit. I really hate hotels that the exit is limited to the front entrance.

1. Do not volunteer any information. If they ask, use a plausible reason but keep even that short.
The more you say, the more fishy it will sound.
2. Book through Priceline or Hotels.com or Expedia ....you can usually get 3.5 - 4 star hotels for under $100/night.
3. Wear a diamond or cubic zirconia ring that looks like a wedding ring or engagement ring. They signal out single ladies.
4. Dress casually and comfortably...don't check in looking like a "ho".
5. Act as though you belong. Also, make sure your gentlemen friends know where the elevators are and what direction they go once they get off the elevator. There is nothing more noticeable than folks looking like they are lost.
6. Pack light for short stays. Do not check in with your biggest suitcase full of gear for a 1-2 night stay.
7. Leave your room. It looks suspicious if you are in your room the entire time you are there.
When you leave your room, put all your working gear in your suitcase, in the closet, out of sight of maids.
8. Dispose of used condoms and wrappers....do not put in your room trash. (Maids are nosey). Stuff them into a styrofoam cup and, when you leave your room, dispose of it in a public trash can outside the hotel.
The idea is to be inconspicuous as possible.
