And which Kate Beckinsale ....

A picture can be cruel or kind.

Kate Beckinsale was and is one of my all-time celebrity ATFs, but even she has had her awkward times.

TER should change the appearance rating system to milihelens.

The most beautiful woman in history / mythology was Helen of Troy; she of the face that launched a thousand ships.  The appearance rating should be an estimation of how many ships the provider in question could have launched on her behalf on a zero to one thousand scale.

The actress, Kate Beckensale, would be rated at over 950 milihelens, whereas Queen Latifa (as a personal opinion) would be rated at 20 milihelens.

Sounds interesting.  Do you happen to have any pictures of Helen so as to have a baseline?  I just am curious what a 1000 ship face looks like.

...OK, maybe it's not a real photo of Helen 'cuz they hadn't invented bikinis back then but I'm guessing she was probably at least this beautiful!
Even if TER doesn't adopt your rating idea, I think it would be nice if we could award 1/2 points for appearance scores from 7 up to 10. Sometimes one might dither whether to give a lady an 8 or a 9 so an 8.5 would do the trick.

I think it's funny if someone gives me a 5 when whilst I'm walking around downtown or somewhere I have to wear a full hijab in order to stop the sexual harassment I get.
Look scores can KMA.
Imo most of the guys I'm surrounded by have very warped sense of what real beauty is anyway. I think the 0-10 system is fine as it is.

But Kate Upton on the other hand could probably get the entire US Navy to go wherever she wants! :D

... to bother with the US Navy!  Anyway, while I agree Kate is right up there in HoT (Helen of Troy... hmm, what a coincidence!) territory, IMO we have several local providers I'd put above Kate in that proposed 1000-point scale.  I won't name any names as this isn't Friday.  ;-)

All I know is Portia can launch my ship anytime she likes!!

....seriously proposing this as a new rating system, but only trying to lighten the board's mood a little.

For me, it was a day-brightener to awake to this fresh new thread, not obsessing with TER delistings, fake reviews, NCNS's, he-said's, she-said's, etc.

Thanks for a fun posting, 741512th.  There are quite a few Minnesota ladies, I'd say, whom the U.S. Navy would follow down to the depths of Neptune's watery realm, if they should so much as cast a beckoning look in its direction!  :

Can't disagree about Kate, but Queen Latifah, at her best, was smart, sexy, great looking, 5'10" and built for pleasure! (Agreed, at her worst, not so much.)

(Oh, and it's spelled millihelens.)

.....she's actually very pretty. Again cleans up very nicely at risk of repeating myself lol.

...I would guess she's the type of person that you just can't help liking if you met her in person.

If one could quantify attraction, we'd all be matched up by now.  "So and so is / is not attractive" is not a factual statement.  It is an opinion.

Why do you think there is so much AGREEMENT regarding the attractiveness of some women?  And as between the two, the objective factors are almost always stronger.

Anyway, there are soooo many studies and we all have access to the internet. But here's an interesting one from last year about a scientific study of 8000 entrants (science narrowed it down to three finalists and the public chose among those).

"Florence Colgate, 'Britain's Most Beautiful Face' Has Scientifically Perfect Looks"

As part of the contest, no make-up or cosmic enhancements of any kind were allowed.

(By the way, it actually drives me temporarily a little crazy when an objectively attractive woman gets downgraded in "appearance" because the reviewer wasn't happy with the meeting. It's very dishonest. There are two ratings for a reason!)

...that starry eyed people, those with sunny dispositions and space cases were excluded from the study? ;)

LOL and oops!

I should be more careful when I cut and paste.

(I guess, technically, I should have quoted, "No make-up or cosm[et]ic enhancements of any kind were allowed," or maybe "No make-up or [cosmetic] enhancements of any kind were allowed.")

Since I'm a closet grammar Nazi, I should have known better!

I prefer the Budweiser system--- How many Clydesdales does it take to pull er off my face once I get started!!

If you give a woman a 10, and then give several others the same top rating, by definition they are no longer "Once in a Lifetime". I like the larger scale idea.
