one of these message makers mentions friends...
funny this happens now and never before. okey dokey. no biggie. lesson learned. friends know where and how to get a hold of me so i should expect the NSA knows same. cute little exchange. over it now and have fun. just going to ignore button from now on. -sighHow do we deal with a suspicious communication going forward? I received a PM and it smells bad, like if you have had bacon or pork chops recently. Asking me about a review I did but the handle has old reviews but no posting history. When asked about all that more fishy in the response. PM if you are someone of substance and I can get the word out.
That I have no clue...that's why I ask you lol.
A little too cryptic to add or comment or even ask a question
i tried to be pretty clear without saying certain catch words...so let me start again
i received a couple of PM's recently that I feel are sketchy. not handles i recognize. when i look at their history they have old reviews (nothing recent i would consider relevant). they asked me to comment on a recent review of mine. not going to happen
would you well qualified and posting gentlemen and ladies be a little alarmed?
that is my point
is that clear? i am wondering if anyone else may have received same. although i like bacon on my breakfast sandwich and the occasional pork chop for dinner i feel like gagging at the thought of some of these messages.
if you can't figure out what i'm talking about i can't be more clear
*********
Update since I posted and now modified this...
unsolicited PM with names and ph#'s to call/text...um
yeah no thanks

I read your OP and wrote a thoughtful response to what I THOUGHT you were saying. Left the computer for 10 minutes, came back and read the OP once again, applied the doctrine of "Who the fuck knows" and deleted my draft response. Now that you have clarified a bit more I'm glad I did as it would not have been to the purpose at all.
The pitfalls and snares of discussion boards are many.
Nothing recently though.
If I'm not comfortable with the PM and/or the PMer I either don't reply or simply reply that I am not comfortable revealing that information.
Wong do you like bacon wrapped porkchops???
I'm certainly a relative newbie, and somebody you should therefore be skeptical of, and also not anybody who''s ever tried to contact you, so I might be the ideal respondant to your question.
I recently read a thread about a latent provider ID showing up in the top 10 list of Minnesota providers. As chance would have it, I was going through the "new reviews' when the review that solicited the discussion board inquiry appeared. I have approached my time in the hobby as not looking for a "type", but the provider whose review I just read was totally my preconceived type. At the time I did not have PM privileges, otherwise I might have been the guy showing up in somebody''s mailbox asking questions that would have made them feel a bit queasy about answering. I did my due diligence & decided to wait for a second current review before trying to contact the provider. Still hasn't happened.
I'm legit as Hell, but if you had second & third guessed such a reality, it would not only have been understood, it would have been expected. We live in a world where a provider's reviews are important, but their reviewers review history also matters, a lot. And I check it out, always.
I guess what I'm saying is that ignoring such a request could not be viewed as a slight.
Newbies have a steeper hill to climb. I'm one of them, and I recognize the obstacles associated with that fact. One of the beauties of TER is all the hobby vets who go to the trouble of recounting the details of their journey. But I've never expected that any of the vets "give up the crown jewels" in the process of their Paying Forward.
That is all.
So just ignore, delete ...that's my advice anyway & Thank U very, very much for giving a damn about other peoples safety, & freedoms.
Wouldn't the world be so cool if more people stopped to think b4 responding to and possible over sharing w/the wrong people.... (yep it would)
Information sharing is within our control & I have a high respect for all those who take great pride in not adding to the rumor mill.
Uncle LEO is not the only thing to watch out for in this land of hobby, many could have the wrong intent.
Ps. T2usoon W things got hectic
Smile ~ it's one of a few best things to do w/ur mouth.
