Couldn't agree more. None of this works if the hobbiest don't give honest reviews and the providers don't give references to each other freely and openly.
I have recently returned from overseas and found through discussions with several of my hobbyist friends and disciples that a number of the quality, regular ladies have stopped giving references for these guys to other ladies. These guys are all good guys who show up on time, do not barter, and are repeat customers all looking for a little variety.
Whether this is in the interest of stiffling competition, or perhaps to create anxiety for those ladies who are not as friendly with each other, this is a bad practice and must stop. It is bad for the safety and protection of the ladies and hobbyists alike. And it's not smart. Let's all just get back to having fun and stop trying to hurt each other.

You both are absolutely right! Ladies lighten up! One day the shoe WILL be on the other foot and you'll need a reference, or two, or three (wink,wink!)! BTW, if it's competition you're worried about, trust most gents have a few references to call upon anyway...and guess who they probably won't be seeing again?
Funny you should post to this Tara. There are some local providers that I would really like to meet but have given up because I just don't want to deal with the reference issue anymore. Unfortunately you're one of them. It's all very sad!!
This reference thing is driving me crazy, and it appears that it is very prevalent in the Twin Cities. I am a very active, but pretty low profile hobbyist and have found it very difficult to see some of the local ladies that I would like to see because of the reference issue. This has forced me to see a lot of the touring ladies because the reference issue is not an issue with them. For example, I have tried and tried to see Madison, but always run into the reference issue....yes, I know ladies like Tuzdae who could give me a reference, but the logistics are a pain in the rear and I don't want to go through it...let alone impose on Tuz. I would like to have fun with more of the quality local ladies....let's catch a break here. I hope that Madison reads this because I would still like to meet her.
One would think that the local providers would be more available and easier to schedule. The opposite seems to be true. There has been some discussion about the need for traveling providers and why guys would want to see them. All other issues aside, they are easier to schedule. A lot easier. I don't see traveling providers for the variety or the higher quality. There are lots of great providers here I've never seen. It's just a lot easier to schedule them.
good topic Noah. I too find this reference thing a bit intriguing. For instance, it leaves several holes:
1. If you need a reference to see a girl, how do you get that first reference?
2. What if say 3 or 4 girls wanted to stiffle the competition by manipulating the reference system?
3. What if the provider you saw just has a bad attitude and decides to black list you?
Also, this does seem to be a phenomena primarily in the Twin Cities. It causes delays in appointment hook ups for visitors. It discourages newcomers. It limits the pool of available clients. It could collapse with the work of one informant.
Funny thing is that sometimes when I see a provider I often don't broadcast it unless I won't being seeing her for long while. So if I do this, what is top stop a provider from keeping Mr Big all to herself? Or a provider from sending the creeps to someone who competes in her territory. Yup the system has its flaws.... anyone got any idea for a better one?
I am new to the hobby and have never had any trouble getting an appt. except on short notice, with the local gals. I recently had a provider require a membership to roomservice 2000 and at first thought it a hassle, but it may be a way to overcome the reference thing if all providers required it. ( i am not affliated with the service)
