Ok The Apple Valley massage thread down the page away got the usual responses about legalizing prostitution. First let me say I'm on board with NOBODY going to jail for partaking in a little sex between consenting adults. The question that always pops into my mind when I hear talk of legalization is: If it were legal does anyone believe that escorts will not be looked down upon by most of society? Would any escorts want to tell there family what they do, or would they be scared of their families objections? So that was two questions, point being I don't know of any of the gals I've seen that would announce at Christmas dinner to their family that they were escorts just because it was legal.
And I doubt that either escorts or their clients will be going around telling others outside of this odd little world we live in about what we do. But at least we wouldn't run the risk of being arrested and that would be real progress.
I agree that socially the profession would be looked down on and many providers will keep what they do from their families.
I think that if they were to legalize internet prostitution some of the problems that force media attention to our hobby would be gone. Lets say that they tax and for health reasons regulate what we do. So if you post on BP you need a tax ID and current favorable medical check up. How may 16 year olds would be able to post? Where would the pimps go? I am not foolish enough to think that the underaged girls would go away but there would be a much smaller area for them to hide.
