Every now and then a story tugs at my heart and I am compelled to do whatever I can to help. Recently, one of our Twin Cities ladies under went surgery (not an elective procedure), which was seriously botched. Sadly, she is facing many months of recovery time ahead. This Lady is an asset to our community. A truly caring, responsible and compassionate individual. As not to embarrass her publicly, I will not mention her name here. Many of the Twin Cities Ladies are aware of this need and can be discussed in person.
My request is for our small community to pull together to offer assistance. As I will be out of town this week please PM or email any of the following gals for more information.
Count on my help. I hope to be just one of many who will reach out in this time of need.
To all: there is POWER in numbers, I hope it makes your heart happy to help in any way that you can. Peace, Astrid

The situation is serious enough to say that EVERY PENNY COUNTS. Gift cards for a food store are also welcome.
I'm pledging a hundred bucks, to be delivered through one of the providers identified above.
We've all had experiences when our hard earned cash went down the drain. Now it's time to make a difference for a worthy cause. Melissa is compassionate and reputable. This is for real. Step up, Gents!
It is inspiring and encouraging to know that when times are tough and the going gets rough, that we really truly are a "community" in every sense of the word.
I've received a number of PMs from guys confirming their pledges...
The generosity shown is amazing! If you haven't made a commitment, please do so now; contact one of the providers listed in the original post and make a pledge, then deliver on it! Let's show what a great community we are
The original request was for donors to contact one of the 4 listed ladies by PM or email, and I expect most donors did just that, directly and discreetly.
Many people like their donations to others, whether individuals or organizations, to be private matters. Another reason the relatively few posts here is no indication for the level of support for a member of our community who is in need. As for amount of donation... that's for each donor to decide for himself/herself. Only they know their personal circumstances. But Minnesotans in general are a generous folk when it comes to giving. A study done last year found Minnesota ranks 21st amongst the states in terms of population, and 17th in terms of total individual giving. So we out-perform our size... in giving. :-
We do not wish to betray her privacy. She will undoubtedly post something when she feels up to it. I understand that folks want to know who they are helping and you will soon. It is up to her to come forward. This has been a very difficult time for her and I would ask that, as best we can, please respect her need for discretion and a bit more time to heal.
I sent Melissa a PM this morning assuring her that she can count on my support to help this provider and I hope my fellow hobbyist step up and do the same. This hobby is all about giving and receiving pleasure and it feels good to help someone in need. Let's step up!!
I've heard of this story and know that people can heal faster when they've got friends and community backing them up with care. I also pledge $100 and will get it either to you: Belinda.. or Melissa.
Thank you for all of the emails and PMs. We are a group of caring people and your support is being heard.
Please contact me on how to pass on the donation when I return from NYC or sooner with other routes. I will tally up how many donations come in from me. It is good that this is staggered. The money she is getting now will help now and when I pass on the extra donations it will help for the next month. The support needs to have diligence and momentum. Thank you for your help. My friend is a very sweet woman that has had a grave misfortune.
i too will pledge 100 to this cause. Worthwhile and needed!!!!!
